Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

Season 7 has to be Book 7 since Book 7 will be huge.
Season 6 has to be Book 6 since Book 6 will be huge.
Season 5 has to be Book 4 & 5 since GRRM wrote those two books in a special way for those who read the series which allows for one super condensed season.

My point is that is a lot to cover in 30 episodes.
GRRM is consulted, but those two dudes can do whatever the fuck they want to. And GRRM didn't reveal the whole ending to them, just confirmed some things to them.

HBO already said that they would keep GOT going as long as possible. The reality is that everyone knows that the show will catch up to the books and then shit will be fucked. I seriously doubt that GRRM will pump out two books in 3 years. That shit is not happening. We'll be lucky if dude puts out Book 6 in the next 3 years. :smh:

Season 4 will have elements of book 3,4,5 in it.

From what I've witness in the trailers, a lot of book 5 is going to take place in this season.

I'm re-watching the first 3 seasons, getting ready for the 4th season to start next month,
and a question/theory just came to mind.

In the 2nd episode, there is scene where Cersei tells Kat that her first son died of a fever. She says that the boy looked just like Robert. Has me wondering what kind of fever did the boy died from. Was it a actual fever, or was it the same kind of 'fever' that Jon Arryn died from? If the child looked like just like Robert, then he must have been the one true born heir.
:dunno:

George R.R. Martin Has a Detailed Plan For Keeping the Game of Thrones TV Show From Catching Up To Him

George R.R. Martin is perfectly aware that the Game of Thrones TV series may be moving faster than he can write the new books. Two volumes away from completing his seven-book series, Martin has met with the show’s creators, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, to talk about the speed with which they’re catching up. “They are. Yes. It’s alarming.”

But fans of Westeros and its complicated narratives shouldn’t panic just yet. Martin has a surprisingly detailed plan for how the show can slow down and give him enough time to catch up:

The season that’s about to debut covers the second half of the third book. The third book [A Storm of Swords] was so long that it had to be split into two. But there are two more books beyond that, A Feast for Crowsand A Dance with Dragons. A Dance with Dragons is itself a book that’s as big as A Storm of Swords. So there’s potentially three more seasons there, between Feast and Dance, if they split into two the way they did [with Storms]. Now, Feastand Dance take place simultaneously. So you can’t do Feast and then Dance the way I did. You can combine them and do it chronologically. And it’s my hope that they’ll do it that way and then, long before they catch up with me, I’ll have published The Winds of Winter, which’ll give me another couple years. It might be tight on the last book, A Dream of Spring, as they juggernaut forward.

Not only that, but Martin is up for a Breaking Bad or Mad Men-style hiatus inserted in the middle of the final season, or even a prequel season. That said, “I don’t want to sound too glib about this. This is a serious concern.” He continues, “We’re going forward, and the kids are getting older. Maisie was the same age as Arya when it started, but now Maisie is a young woman and Arya is still 11. Time is passing very slowly in the books and very fast in real life.”

I wouldn't be surprised if they went the Spartacus route and did a prequel season a year or 2 to give Martin more time.

Why the fuck would they do that?

Netflix is a streaming service, HBO is a cable pay service channel, allowing viewers to binge watch their content could cost them money and subscribers.

Anyway watching programs on a week by week basis is better IMO.

I binge watched the first season of GOT on HBOGO and just kept going back to watch again to get clarification. Did the same with House of Cards on Netflix. No reason to have to wait for that magic time on Sunday night. Ijs.

I hear you but I prefer to wait, I just feel something is lost in binge watching.

I use to do that with 24 and the first season of Spartacus. Some shows are better when you can watch them when you want to watch them. Fuck the wait

Here we go again.... the new season has not even started yet. :hmm:

THIS thread is for folks who have NOT read the books.

Repeat....THIS THREAD.... is for folks who have NOT. Read. The. Books. Period.

Post your "dock seals" and ALL your other cryptic 'hidden message' jpgs in the OTHER Game of Thrones thread, meant specifically for **spoilers**.

People do not HATE that you know more than them.... :smh:

They HATE that you are completely unable to abide by a singular, simple-ass request made by the MAJORITY of other posters in this thread, which is:

"DO NOT fuck up the tv show for everyone else... just because you read the books already" :hmm:

Since you 'know so much'... how hard is that to understand? :hmm:

Only a true jackass goes to a movie theater and YELLS OUT the climatic finale.... while the "previews" are still playing, before the movie even starts. :hmm: (just because he saw the film only 1 day before everyone else did )

alot of people haven't read the books and have no interest in reading the book. They are only interested in watching the show, so keep that self righteous book reading shit to yourself, yeah you read the book but guess what, you aren't special and no one gives a fuck

For those who haven't read the books, grab the audiobooks from the ebook forum hear. I've finished the first one and am no on Clash of Kings. I can't begin to tell you how much more I understand about the series. While the show is a good adaptation of the books, it doesn't do a very good job giving you more background of the characters. I'm also going back and watching the first 3 seasons. Even just watching the show over and over, the story is still complex. The books have helped me to understand a lot of shit.

I think the show writers threw that scene in there to drive home the point that Robert's true children all had dark hair. Also to make her more sympathetic in having suffered early in her marriage which justified her own scandalous behavior.

Definitely not in the source material. So this is not likely not going to come up gain on the show.

That moment when Ned made the connection between the dark hair and Joffrey's blond hair..>>>

Teacher Threatens To Spoil 'Game of Thrones' For Disruptive Class

All men must die, but all students must avoid "Game of Thrones" spoilers.

A*Belgian math teacher threatened to reveal who died in Season 3 of "Game of Thrones"*if his noisy classroom didn't start paying attention, the Telegraph reported. He asked his students if they watched "Game of Thrones," and when the majority said they did, he said, "Well, I’ve read all the books. If there is too much noise, I will write the names of the dead on the board."

According to the*Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad,*the teacher began writing names of dead characters on the board when the class refused to quiet down.

One student wrote about the incident on French forum DanstonChat.com (in an English translation of the original text), "My math teacher is a genius." After the teacher spoiled who died, the student described, "About 20 people sighed in disgust. Well I can tell you that there's been a religious silence during the last lesson."

And that, teachers all of the world, is how it's done.
