Game Of Thrones season 2: The night is dark and full of terror................

I thought he was, I assumed he wouldn't be able to get out, my bad

Naw he got out. Unless the writers want to drastically alter how the show will progress in later seasons (because Stannis plays a big part in later books)they won't change that aspect of the original story.

got you, so they probably won't even show him anymore this season. They'll just leave it up in the air. Thats actually a great way to leave it, it makes his re-entrance on the series even more powerful (being that after this loss he'd be out of most viewers minds)

That would be a great way to handle it.

When he surfaces again I know a lot of you that do not read the books will be like :dance:

No doubt. Think about his last scene, him being pulled back into the darkness screaming "nooooooooooo" and then you see him next season out of the blue:yes:

Yeah I haven't read the books yet but its getting harder and harder not too. I tried listening to the audiobook of the first book but I didn't get far. I'll probably read the first two over the summer.

I actually like the surprise of not knowing whats going to happen on the show so I would rather wait until they handle it in the series and then read it.

Not only that I'm sure there is a lot they've left out, some things they will have to change that I may not like if I read the books and then watch the show.

Watching the show first gives me the chance to enjoy the show without expectations, then go back and read the books to discover new shit as opposed to reading the books first and being disappointed with any changes or with what was left out.

I'm new to this show. I watched every episode in less than a week. I started late last week, and finished up this afternoon. I watched about 2-3 episodes a day online. I watched most of them with a great "coach" who schooled me on what was happening. This show is awesome. I was sleeping on it for a while, but now I'm really in to it. I don't care to read this entire thread, but a few recent posts caught my eye...

Sansa... had her out. she rose when the time came though and showed more courage than cersi did. she is built to be queen.

Cersi...got drunk started reflecting on life and when it seemed like hope was lost just was gonna say fuck it. The stuff she told Cersi about women's weapons and everything else was just her passing down wisdom as she saw it to sansa. their interaction was great.

Joffrey, a little scared chump who talks major shit but when the heat is on does nothing but run and hide. His momma sent for him and he left... he's the king... he even tried to get the dude to make it seem better by asking if there was some pressing business... yes pressing business she needs you to attend to while a battle is going on :smh:...

Hound honorable and fighter and just said fuck it. He was out there chopping dudes in half 3 different ways and shit but that fire....fear is fear. I'm glad he didn't just sneak out and go on about his business, he did address the king and acting hand and renounced to their face so he has that at least.

I had no real opinion of Stannis before tonight but as of now I have immense respect for him. He believes he is the rightful king and wanted to take his throne. He had been talking shit all season and saying he wanted it. This episode he showed he was real. He was on the 1st boat to hit shore. He made it to the wall, he yelled out his orders. He was the first up the ladder, he fought once inside by himself, no protection just man to man and was winning. Stannis is about everything he said he was.

Tyrion found that he had more courage than even he thought. When push came to shove he didn't fold, he stood tall :D. His plan his map his everything got them to the point of at least putting up a resistance. His speech was great, deflecting the lead and glory position and making it personal basically saying fight for your lives.. it was a great save considering everyone just saw the king exit stage left and leave them in the middle of the battle. Tyrion fought about as well as he could have but it was him actually being there that just adds to his legend imo.
I don't think he's dead and the battle is over so they should be able to get him to a medic in time.

Tywin
Me and a dear friend have discussed him and what he stands for and all of his qualities... He's as likeable and honorable as Ned was in my opinion he's just on the "wrong" side. he's never outwardly nervous he's always there to protect and save his family he's just real... when they came, i thought i saw his banners but it didn't compute because i thought they were supposed to march on rob...
but when they opened the door to the throne room and ole boy walked in first, i knew who would be walking in after
Tywin is the saving grace
the look in Cersi's eyes said it all... he's always there and always has been, he isn't all outwardly i love you give me a hug and all that shit and he doesn't need to be.
He shows his love by giving his kids confidence (making Tyrion the acting hand) and showing up and handling the business when needed like tonight. That was just very well done very very well done.

Sansa: Living in a fantasy world on one hand. Scared on the other hand. I sorta dislike her, but I feel sorry for her at the same time.

Cersi: I can't stand her. She's a bitch. Evil, manipulative, etc. That being said she's a good mother. She wants to protect her kids. She knows she created a monster named Joffery, but at the end of it all, that's her baby and she loves him. She's probably the only person who actually does love his bitch ass.

Joffery: Fuck that bitchass nigga. I hope he dies slow and painfully.

Hound: Hound is a G. It was funny when he said fuck all this shit and got outta there.

Stannis: I ain't mad at him. He's making a move for the position he feels he deserves.

Tyrion: I really like him. It's a shame he's a Lanister.

Tywin: I agree with Bill that he's like Ned, but just on the wrong side.

Robb better get his shit in order because with Stannis and his forces down for the moment the Lannisters can solely focus on him and the North now.

Season 3 is going to be crazy

I agree.

I pretty much agree with what Bills was saying. Stannis really showed up and i was glad he did. He's a warrior king. Cersi was fucking hilarious.

I agree with everything you said here. That being said, I hate Cersi.:hmm::lol:

That's the best way to go about it. I did that for the first season and started reading the books shortly after the 1st season ended. Problem is that I could not put the books down and ended up reading/listening to all of the books that have been released so far (5 books total so far). :(

So I'm going to have to wait another 2 years or some shit like that until the next books is published (The Winds of Winter) because RR Martin likes taking his sweet time.....

so by all means, if you can take your time (although it will be hard to do when you start reading).

Yup I'll say that I am a fan of tywin especially after this episode?
let's be real here, if joffrey, cersi and slayer didn't exist the 2 remaining and the other kids would probably be the most liked people in the land

i still can't get over stannis though
like i knew he was wanting it and he really believed it was his
and yea there were no indications that he was a punk or anything but

this dude showed up and showed out
to me even in defeat this was a win for the man as far as fans of the show goes... he may not get it
but you cannot question whether he was really wiling to die for it.

joffrey
i judged him as a little chump when he lied on ole girl when she slashed his punk ass up.

and he's been proving me right ever since
i mean he's dressed in the best armor money can buy
new steel
and ran inside cause his mommy said it was time to come inside

:smh:

like the dude that had the football when you were a kid and he was talking all that shit about how raw he was and then the sreet lights came on and he said he had to go :smh:

Yeah I might have to reconsider reading those first two books then because I have 0 self control when it comes to things like that

Nigga leave me out of this, no need to get personal:angry:

I agree with you. I was just thinking about it all, and the best way I can describe Joffery is to say he's a bully. The thing about him is he's not physically imposing like most bullies. He's not bigger, stronger, or able to fight better than other people. He's frail, and has a Napoleon complex. He's a spoiled brat who has been enabled to be a dickhead because of his "claim" to the throne. So, because of all that he bullies people with his power/position. But as we have seen, whenever the bully gets challenged he folds. I hope Joffery's ways will catch up to him and lead to his demise at some point. I never read the books so I don't know if or when that will happen, but I'll stay tuned.

Still wanting for some gif from the battle. Plenty of BGOL gif material like the Hound getting busy with the broad sword on the beach, or the one guy having a rock dropped on his head, or people running around on fire.

C'mon BGOL gif makers. I know y'all out there. It's been almost 24 hours. This shit wouldn't fly in the Spartacus thread

after ALL the foul shit Joffrey had the HOUND do...

NOW
cause of some fire dude ran:smh:

Please tell me that the Hound is still a player in the future. I'm trying to figure out why he wanted to take Sansa with him? Also, I assume Arya is moving forward too, right?

The truth is all you have said is astonishing. Couldn't have said it better myself.

In the next 3 seasons the hound and Jaime Lannister are going to be more vocal characters.

there's another thread ..that contains spoilers...if you wanna know what happens to Arya and Sansa .. also on wikipedia they sum up each character's story arc in about three paragraphs...

http://www.bgol.us/board/showthread.php?t=660434

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sansa_Stark#Sansa_Stark

but as far as why The Hound asked Sansa to come with him... it's because ever since she's come to King's Landing... he's come to see himself as her protector ..against Joffrey's cruelty and anybody else that would do her harm...

I tell you one thing that annoys me (as a person who hasn't read the books) is when a character is hyped up in these threads but ends up not doing shit.

Take John Snow for example. Last season everyone was saying wait until you see what he does and how much of an important character he is and what he becomes (and I'm sure all that happens).

But all thats happened this season is duke got beat up by an old man for being too nosey, fell down a snowy mountain and got captured because he couldn't kill the chick, and cost his fellow rangers their lives.

I know that more happens with his character later but hearing all that and then to come into this season and nothing profound happens is a little annoying.

Or even the the White Walker, I was expecting to see more of them this season after hearing so much of them.

I guess I just have to be patient and let the characters develop.

Yep, seems like patience is the key with this show. I didn't read the books either, so I am gonna have to wait and see how things develop as well.

On another note, does anyone know when season 3 will air?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Jon story line and the white walkers/others storyline will pick up next season. in the books a lot of mystery is still exists around the others.

The story line will also pick up for Jaime, The hound, brienne, and Bran

Be patient! It will pay off

Season 3 won't start until early 2013:(

no doubt

Sons of bitches. OK then, well maybe in that time I'll cop some of the audio books from the book section of the board and see what happens with these people. We'll see. I may also wanna just wait until next season and be surprised by it all. Either way, I look forward to seeing what is to come.
