As a Bears fan,I'm pissed that Tank put himself in a precarious position when his team needed him in a playoff run. With Tommie Harris out,Tank becomes more imprtant. I don't think he should be barred from the Super Bowl though. Then again,being a die hard Bears fan I'm probably biased.

Why not? If you commit a bad enough crime and your job finds out you can get terminated. My last job I had to do criminal background checks on ALL employees once a year, and if it came back that they commited a serious enough felony they were terminated.

I see your point, but I just don't agree with taking athletes off the field for non-play related bullshit. It becomes too subjective, especially when there are no clear rules for discipline. I'm sure that there are a lot of fuck ups in the NFL, but you just can't pick and choose who you and what you punish. It's one thing if you fuck up and do something that specifically (clearly spelled out in writing) puts your job in jeopardy, but to ad-hominum enforce some punishments on case-by-case basis leads to inequity and confusion. Example, when Brett Farve was hooked on pain-killers did he get banned from anything? Koren Robinson...well that's a bad example, but my point is that an attempt to set and enforce some type of off-field moral standard for the 1500+ men in the NFL is pointless, inequitable, and impacts the actual fan experience negatively.

I'm sure Gayle Sayers was no angel when he was a twenty-something year-old player, and to turn around and shit on a fellow Bear like that (right before the big game) is disgusting.
