I say just put a time limit on how long it takes to move to the member only board. Like the time limit before you start posting. I mean with what everybody else is talking (generally the ones with 4,000 post who been here forever) new people shouldn't get shit until about 5 months of work.

If HNIC did that membership would drop off in this bitch dramatically.

I am relatively new, but I like it here and I feel like I contribute. Trying to pick it up as I get more time. My main reason for joining was to get stuff, but I feel I should give back also.

I'd roll with whatever decision HNIC makes because I would like to keep the board around, but...this "only for the elite" talk is a bit much.

the fact that it takes that long speaks volumes when you reach it. im not to sure about that reputation points idea because of the tendency of BGOL members to alienate posts/posters because of content/personal grudges. i think that idea can eventually become cliqueish (sp).

any overwhelming number though. Just enough to let the mods know
that a particular member is productive.

As for the "clique-ishness" of small minded cats, the MODs can handle
that nonsense if it happens too much. Remember, this particular forum
would be limited access. Not like the main board where anybody can
register. He/she would have to get those posts and rep points all over
again. Don't think alot of people would wanna go through that. Not the

That system won't work for the main board...talking shit is a big part of BGOL...some people can take it others are too sensitive and would abuse the rating system every time their feelings get hurt...that rating system would not work out the way it's supposed to in this environment...here's what needs to happen...

a) A majority if not all of the porn, music and videos need to be moved to a special content area where you have to register to get it...that special content area needs to be regulated...no stupid questions...no dumb threads...no beefing...lurkers can't get that shit...they don't like it oh well they need to find somewhere else that offers that shit w/o them having to register to the site...good luck to them with that...that handles HNICs problem to a degree...I mean this is the type of site it is so there will always be questions about it...but at least now it's not on front street...

b) The main board stays as it is minus the "illegal" threads...BGOL has taken off as far as topics...so there are enough discussion and shit talking topics to hold the main board down...a majority of the threads on the first page are mostly just discussion...it kind of changes what BGOL is about cause I like the "flea market" feel to it where you can find everything on the main board...

c) I say leave the site as is except you make people register from the start...no lurking...most people heard of BGOL from word of mouth so they already know the deal coming in...I don't see the importance of lurkers...they don't translate to registered users...so what purpose are they serving other than using up bandwidth and possibly just spying...

d) Update the rules and enforce them...shit talking should not include posting people's personal info on a public porn board...EVER...

e) I don't think we need a user rating system...it's pointless on this board cause the board is still "small" enough that we know who posts good shit and who just talks shit... ...we don't need to regulate how many posts a person has to view content once they've registered (and hotmail addresses and the like should be unacceptable email addresses to register with...but I think y'all do that already)...cause that would definitely lose registered members...but I think they're ability to create threads should be regulated to a certain post count...500 sounds good...

so he has no problem getting on the limited access forum

Besides, if you post heat, you GET rep points too right.
So even if some fruitfly wants to give you negative rep

Setting up a member only forum for music and video that will be lurker free, I'll make the music and video forums a sticky on the main board, but when you click on it you can't get in unless you meet certain criteria. What criteria I don't know at this time

essentially thats what i did with my message board:
There is a forum that you can only see when you are logged in. Lurkers will never see it and thus it doesn't see much exploit. I didnt even tell the members about it just to see who would make a comment about it on the main board. When I made it, I did not set the permissions right and anyone who is logged in can see it and post to it.
