He swatted a flyboy.
Footage captured the wild moment when a passenger smacked a pilot after learning that the plane was delayed for 13 hours. A clip of the wild incident has amassed over 3.1 million views on X as commenters shamed the man for his behavior.
The smackdown occurred on Sunday after an IndiGo flight traveling from Delhi to Goa, in India, was delayed for 13 hours due to poor visibility caused by dense fog sweeping the region, according to Jam Press.
Pilot Anup Kumar announced the situation, which apparently did not sit well with one of the passengers, identified as Sahil Kataria, India Today reported.
Footage shows the incensed flyer — who’s wearing a yellow hoodie — charging up the aisle and smacking the pilot with his open hand as onlookers cry out in shock.

“If you want to fly, then fly the plane,” he yells at Kumar, who is seen backing into the cockpit. “Otherwise open the door.”

At that point, a flight attendant gets between the two, while Kataria is grabbed by a fellow passenger in a sky-blue hoodie and ushered back to his seat.
The aforementioned crew member then bursts into tears and lays into him, screaming: “This is wrong what you did. You cannot do this.”
A separate clip shows the passenger being escorted off the aircraft by armed guards, before apologizing to Kumar on camera.

Both the pilot and the airline have since filed police reports against Kataria, who was arrested by the Delhi police.
Viewers were quick to shame the traveler over the assault.
“Frustration doesn’t give a passenger the right to physically assault a crew member,” declared one.
Another wrote, “This maniac should be put on no-fly list atleast for 3 years.”

However, others criticized IndiGo for its alleged gross incompetence preceding the incident. Many cited the fact that the pilot did not communicate the reason for the delay, although they admitted this didn’t justify the attack.
“Both airlines and passenger are at fault here,” wrote one. “X is full of complaints against Indigo where they are not communicating the delay and status correctly with passengers, taking them for a ride. On the other hand, no amount of frustration gives anyone a right to physically assault someone. That’s criminal.”

Indeed, the incident comes amid a torrent of complaints directed at IndiGo: On Saturday, Bollywood actress Radhika Apte claimed on Instagram that she and her fellow passengers were locked inside an IndiGo flight’s jet bridge at the Mumbai airport for several hours due to a crew change.

“I had a flight at 8:30. It’s 10:50 now and the flight has still not boarded,” she griped in the post. “BUT the flight said we were boarding and put all the passengers in the aerobridge and LOCKED IT! The passengers with small babies, elderly people have been locked in for over an hour. The security won’t open the doors. The staff has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE!”

Apte added, ” I managed to escaped briefly to speak to the very stupid staff woman outside who kept saying there is no issue and no delay :) now I’m locked inside AND they just told us that we will be here till minimum 12pm all locked in. No water no loo. Thanks for the fun ride!!”

Notice how different this is handled than if a black kid assaults a teacher. In the past month we have had two teachers hospitalized by 'frustrated students' And the conversation stops when explaining why the student was frustrated. 'Jonny was frustrated because teacher took away cell phone' or 'sammy was frustrated because teacher wouldn't let her go to her locker for her seizure meds' - never mentioning that those are no excuses for assault. How can maturity ever be gained if like Democrats, youths are not held equally accountable for their actions?

What does this story, about an angry passenger on a flight, thousands of miles away from the USA have to do with teacher assaults in the US. Absolutely nothing. Go back under your white sheet and hood. Descent hard working people of all colors, religions, sexual preferences and nationalities are tired of people like you who never miss the opportunity to express their stupidity and hatred.

He couldn't wait to get back to India and some of that delicious street food...covered in bugs while rats run freely over it.

He’s flushed with anger.
The SpiceJet passenger who was trapped inside the bathroom for almost the duration of an entire flight has complained that he was hurt during landing and received no medical help.
The unnamed 37-year-old software techie spent nearly 100 minutes confined in the Indian budget airline’s commode on a flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru on Tuesday.
Newly emerged video shows the flummoxed flyer trying to open the door while sitting on the commode in the cramped toilet. The handle is seen moving as a crew member tries to open the door.
“I was traumatized, dazed and injured as I was thrown around inside the toilet. As the plane landed in Bengaluru, there was no medical assistance at all,” the man told The Times of India.
The Koramangala resident said SpiceJet offered him a voucher for the equivalent of $60 for the crappy flight but that he turned it down and plans to sue the airline.

He also said he filed a complaint with India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
The passenger was returning to Bengaluru after meeting his family in Mumbai, according to the news outlet.
“Soon after the flight took off at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, I went to use the lavatory on the front left side of the plane,” he said. “Within minutes, I realized that something was wrong with the lock and I tried to open it.”
Note sent by crew5
The crew members slid a note under the door to try and calm the commode captive.
He said he managed to draw the attention of the crew, who tried to open the faulty door.
“It was getting scarier by the minute,” he told the newspaper.
SpiceJet sources told the outlet that the cabin crew realized that the door was jammed and that they slid the man a note asking him not to panic.
“Sir we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not,” the letter read. “Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come.”

The unbuckled captive said he was hurt when the plane landed.
“During landing, I was thrown around and suffered injuries. It took 20 minutes for someone to start breaking open the door. When I came out I had bruises and my vision was blurred for a while,” he told the outlet.
“But I received no medical help even after coming out of the loo. I got a bottle of water and barrage of apologies from SpiceJet,” the man reportedly said, adding that airline staffers put in in a cab and sent him home despite his request to lodge a formal complaint.

A ground employee told the outlet that an engineer boarded the plane after all the passengers had disembarked.
“He was still trapped inside the cramped toilet. The landing was horrific as he was seated on the commode,” the worker said.

SpiceJet told The Times of India that the crew “provided assistance and guidance to the passenger. Upon arrival, an engineer opened the lavatory door and the passenger received immediate medical support.
“SpiceJet apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the passenger,” it said,” adding that he would be provided “a full refund.”
One-way flights on the 600 route typically cost about $40, a search of the airliner’s website revealed.

Well... on an airline named Spice serving Indian food, I think spending the whole time trapped in a restroom is actually better than a first class seat. :roflmao:

Look at the route! Even being stuck in a business class seat would be torture with the body order and food from that crowd.

why does an Indian crew on an Indian airline write a message to an Indian passenger in English? Isn't that odd?

I am always stunned when people go cheap when flying. On an airplane. That has to be maintained. By humans. You get what you pay for.
