Flex hogan said you can’t get rid of me bro.. I’m out the wwf, but now I’m in wcw, went from eat your vitamins to the new world order, I went to Vince my boy to fuck Vince, to he’s my boy again.. went from the early slot to the afternoon slot bro, flexmania never dies, I’m gonna be spitting all over the place when I talk, press the bomb button 1000 times, scream at the top of my lungs, and repeat the same song at least 50 times, now what you gonna do when flex hogan goes from the afternoon to the evening and run wild all over you

I thought the 1st Male Chickenhead of Hot97 was officially gone. But they just moved his slot.

Truth is, management seeing the listeners and the demographic just ain't there. Everyone these days are listening to streams and podcasts. Dude demographic is basically extinct. So they're trying to please their advertisers and shake things up.

You can look at SummerJam and the horrible artists lineup as well as the size of the venue, which has diminished.

He should just retire. Hitting 60 in 2-3 more years. Them young heads dont wanna hear the bombs and favoritism pay for play no more.

But what was I thinking, I forgot Diddy redid their whole studio because of Flex. So I guess he gonna always be around somewhere involved.

Kind of unrelated but got a bunch of info about Hot97/WBLS.
They got taken over by a Spanish based company. Some chick that used to be at Univision is behind them rebranding and stuff. They will move their programming to add more Spanish music. So maybe every 4-5 songs will have Spanish music. Or Spanish hip-hop.

Summer Jam used to be their bread maker for years. Raking in 50-60m, now maybe making them 1-2m and they want to move it back to Met and a different variety of artists. Probably Spanish.

You'll probably see changes come next year. But see what plays out there.

I didnt know they changed so many hands and left Hudson St in 2023. Moved into Flex Studio building. So thats probably why they kept him around. They are dying and trying to bring their listeners back even if its catered to a different crowd.

"Boricua!"

Hopefully they leave BLS the fuck alone. Only half decent black radio in NY is WBLS and 94.5.
They can do whatever with Hot 97, that shit been trash for a long time.

They're both owned by the same company.
Its why they're in the same space. Dont know as far as programming but they looking to gain more attraction to both brands.

Here's a brief thing about when they moved and how MediaCo owns both

At the end of the day it's business, the Latino population is the largest ethnic group in the NYC area behind whites. I think there's 3 Spanish music stations on the FM dial but none of them are formatted for young Latinos. They play Spanish pop, merengue, bachata, salsa and ballads that's more for millennials and older. If NYC drill rap wasn't so self-destructive the city would have a thriving hip hop scene. Might as well add reggaeton, dembow and Spanish rock to the mix and get those Me gusta McDonalds checks. Summer Yam filled to the brim with bad Latinas, I'm loving it papi.

How would you feel if a bunch of black people took over all the cuchofritos, the salsa clubs, all the Latin stations? Nobody would have a problem if they had their own place to rock out but when you take over our shit and bump us out there is a problem.. there’s a bunch of empty buildings in nyc that you can add radio equipment to and built your own latin hip hop station.. there’s a bunch of stadiums where you can host your Latin jam.. why must they colonize our shit

I personally wouldn't feel anyway about it. It's business, you don't own it, neither do I. I'm not emotionally caught up in restaurants, clubs or radio stations because there will always be new ones. You expect the hedge fund that owns the media company running all these radio and TV stations to FEEL like you do but that doesn't make cents. Power 105.1 is the clear leader for Black radio in NYC , guess who owns that? Not anyone that looks like me or you. It ain't OURs they just want OUR money.
