I read that book in the first grade. I think it was written in the 1930's or something. It's just reinforces the tired old stereotype that all Asians look the same. I'm glad that my kids will probably never read it.

that was the most checked out book in elementary school back in the 70's.

Back in the day, it was a good read. Nowadays, I don't think it's too cool unless they update the illustrations.

As much as I've lobbied against "Little Black Sambo" over the years, I'd feel like a hypocrite if I didn't condemn this book too.

Cool tale aside from the sterotypes though.

i have to read it again but i thought they were quintuplets...but i could be wrong

all i remember is that they had cool abilities...:cool:
