Froch vs. Kessler and Arreola vs. Adamek Saturday

HBO will be carrying the Arreola/Adamek fight and this is a make or break fight for Big Chris. He'll never beat a Klitschko but he has to remain relevent until one of the retires or someone else beats them. He loses here, he's done. I want to like him but he's clearly undisciplined and lack the commitment of an elite fighter.
Froch/Kessler is in the Showtime Super Six tournament. I don't really care about either guy. Neither is good enough to win the tournament but with both being European, the judges and ref won't have an American to screw.

While he can punch, he is very unstable and doesn't have the mental make up to be worth caring about. His nervous breakdown after the vitaly loss shows that. Very true, a guy like Froch is exciting, he can't box worth a damm, but he can take punishment and he's in the fight down to the last second because of his one punch power. Kessler for his part, really, really needs this fight.

Excellent fight, I believe it could have been either way, the 117-111 score was off but I'd give Kessler the nod. As much as I like the nuances of the technically sound fighters, I can't front, I love a war like this too!! I believe Lucian Bute is definitely the top Super Middle, but I appreciate Showtime for putting this tournament together... a good collection of styles and fighters, and all of the fight have interesting subtext!!! Bravo Showtime!!!

just watched the froch-kessler fight..a good ass fight...froch is tough man but he was getting hit too much.....kessler had him buckling a couple times during the fight but he never stopped coming forward...however when he faces abraham, who is a very strong puncher, in stage 3 that may be his downfall....meanwhile for kessler it was a very spirited performance and he did do enough to win it....it wasn't flawless though and at that cut he got...and he said that was from a punch...this is a very bad propensity he's getting to have with those cuts..definitely needs to move his head more...he's facing green next and he should def outbox him easily

i had kessler winning 115-113 but it was close and i could have seen it go either way...but you can miss me with them belgium judges scores though...fuck outta here...those decisions were cooked like a muthafucka....and i dont know if anybody noticed the particular belgian judge: roger tilleman..that muthafucka is a disgrace to boxing..corrupt and under the sauerland payroll....he should never be a judge to any fight....all you have to do is watch robin reid vs sven ottke and you'll know why i said that

That's his one last redeeming quality: his interviews. Some road work and changes in his diet would do him a world of good. But if we know that, I know he's had trainers tell him the same thing. Oh well. He'll just be an attraction but never a true contender.

Didn't see Super Six fight, Showtime didn't have a free preview weekend like they did the weekend of the Dirrell-Abraham fight. Sounds interesting, so I'll look it up before commenting.

Marketing doesn't make a fighter great. Neither does great match making against smaller or older opponents. What makes great fighters are the best competing against the best. This tourney does that. I just wished bhop had jumped in it. but I don't think he could have beaten most of these euro guys. it would hae been cool to see it. Cause any live body can probably beat bhop right now. Hence why he is being really picky.

I didn't argue for or against the relative "greatness" of either fighter. I'm not a big fan on either because neither have impressed me when I've seen them fight top level guys. Kessler was outclassed by Calzaghe and then beaten pretty handily by Andre Ward. Froch has a great record but with very little achieved outside the UK. If Jermain Taylor had a smarter corner, Froch would have lost that fight.
How can you crow about the tournament matching the best against the best and then want Bernard Hopkins in it? Those points were contradicting each other and made the post schizophrenic.
The winner of this fight isn't going to be "the best", he's just going to be the guy who gave himself more time.

Arreola is the posterboy for the modern day spoiled brat so called "athlete". The guy is supposed to be a prospect and he's fat, out of shape, complains about running and training in general. The guy just sucks and should go to MMA or something. In the past, a guy used to get fat and out of shape at the end of his career, not at the very beginning. Adamek is technically superior to Haye and has a better chin. But Haye is the fastest Heavy out there and has real one punch power. It would be a damm good fight I think.

I mean Floyd has been cursing his ass off on 24/7 and calls Mosley a "stupid mufucca" every chance he gets, yet homie made no comment on that. I guess he must have his Floyd-filters set to maximum. This is boxing, not olympic wrestling or fencing. Niccas die in the ring every year. To worry about a niccas cursing AFTER a fight just plain ole don't make sense. I'd rather a nicca keep it totally real, then act like a fool during pre fight and talk all kinda shit, then afterward wanna shake a nicca hand and say "no hard feelings".
