Hey I got a question D-Town...

I'm big on music. Love it to death. Is that a good thing to make a blog or a site off of though? You know with the copyrights and shit? I also know a lot of shit about credit so I might go that route but I got music up the ass.

I hate to say it, bruh but music and free music is a WEAK niche. Look below to see for yourself, the % of cash you make per click is around 50 to 75% of the price listed below. HOWEVER, it does get clicked a lot so the volume is there but still.... for a small site just starting out, music is not a good place to start. Maybe once you have the HUGE volume of traffic

Yeah, I know people that recruit mofos to post at 2 cents a pop. The service is free of charge but you have to pay the guys posting on your shit though. Good faith is key, bruh. Pay them for their work but make sure your rules are clear re which posts will get paid and which are shit

Yes they do. Here's the math

For every 100 loads of your pages, there's a % of clicks

The clicks are priced depending on your niche


How do you control the game?

Either increase the number of loads = increase your traffic

Fix your adsense ads so they get clicked more = forum modification

Focus on the right niche of ads = increase payout per click


It is very possible to have LOW traffic but higher income than
getting a shitload of shit traffic clicking on shit ads

There's a TRICK for celeb / gossip blogs that you can use for forums too

Step 1

Google has an autosuggest function available -- you begin typing into google

Step 2

Type in a celeb's name

Step 3

Topics will show up based on what people actually search for

EXAMPLE: type in "Tyra banks"

STep 4

Make threads based on this shit

Another thing about Celebs forum threads, SELECT ONLY the topics that are "gossippy"--you get the advantage of shit that people actually search for and shit that they'd want to follow/comment on.

Simply put, your results vary depend on the following THREE MAJOR FACTORS

1) Your Niche -- Like I mentioned above, shitty niches make shit returns regardless of how much traffic you throw at it since the people buying advertisements from Google will only pay CENTS on the dollar. Look for a niche where mofos will pay a LOT per Click see below for a classic example (mesothelioma)

Solution: if you are fond of low paying niches, build more than ONE forum that caters to it. BUT, make sure you are not just duplicating your niche--focus on the same niche but divide the keyword themes. Also, make sure your niche gets enough search traffic for it to be a good candidate for segmentation.

2) Your Forum's design -- if you forum uses standard adsense display setup, you won't make shit because people are BLIND TO ADS. Set up your code so that the location of the ad jumps from place to place within the same general area. Also select TEXT and GRAPHIC ads so people don't get bored.

The better your design, the higher the click through

3) Your traffic --this is your bread and butter. If no one is clicking through, you are not making money. Simple as that.
You can use cheap forum posters to SEED your forum with activity so that once there's enough REAL PEOPLE participating, you can kick back and not use paid posters anymore.

Instead, hold contests so the REAL PEOPLE will drag their friends to your forum. WARNING: This only works for forums that have subject matters that people can tell their friends about without embarrassment. Can't hold a "refer a friend contest" for penis enlargement/male enhancement sites

Another thing to keep in mind:

Because of a new SUPERSPAMMING software making the rounds, forums are susceptible to LINK spam. Link spammers add links to your shit so Google ranks their shit HIGH. Makes your site look like a billboard for Viagra or other shit. To combat this, you have to set up your forum to do the following

1) only members that have over 20 posts can post links

2) put a brake between post links

3) use a CAPTCHA system like the one below to randomly test them before their post gets published

This game is good but you have to CYA because you're looking for a SUSTAINABLE site that REAL people will find useful

Yes on blogging. This forum hustle came from my solutions to the FRUSTRATIONS in blogging. Blogging makes decent money BUT the main hurdle there is the COST of content. Easy comparison:

You need a LOT of 300 to 400 word blog posts keyed to keywords and insightful/interesting in order to make bread with blogs

Cost: 2 to 4 cents a word. So, 1 blog post (unless you're autoblogging--which will get you banned by Google if they find out) costs $8 to $16

VERSUS

You need a lot of 20+ word posts on your forum SUPPORTING keyword-triggered useful/informative threads

Cost for threads: You can write them yourself or you can get a professional writer for them. There's two ways to go--REWRITE shit from answers.yahoo.com -- pricing is 2 cents per word OR original shit -- pricing is 3 cents per word. A good SEO-powered thread is around 30 to 50 words. So pricing is $1 to $1.50 per thread.

Cost of replies: Say you get 5 average replies per thread at 20 words each. Each WHOLE reply costs 2 cents. Total is 10 cents.

TOTAL OF COST COMPARISON:

Blogging per post = $16 MAximum per post

Forum = $1.60 maximum per thread
