This is true. However the younger generation hasn't been exposed to real singers so his half singing and rudimentary song writing is hot shit to them. Anyone that has grown up listening or seeing a real band isn't impressed by Frank Ocean in the least.

I don't know about being an "A", but out of the current crop of writers I would say The Dream stands out. Frank Ocean shows flashes (I though he did some good things writing-wise on Novocaine), but his songs/lyrics meander too much for me.

Can't disagree with anyone on this list. I think Frank Ocean is very talented as a song writer and I'll agree he's not legendary like the folks you've mentioned. But you have to judge him at the end of his career, not the beginning.
