Fox's 'Daredevil' Reboot Officially Dead?

Yeah man there was a thread on here awhile back that was basically talking about how Marvel/Disney was tryna let them keep the rights to DareDevil if they would in turn let them use the Fantastic Four and I think the result was that the studio would rather drop the right to daredevil then give up Fantastic Four,Silver Surfer and Galactus

i'm interested in seein' what marvel studios does with the character...

if the movie won't come out any earlier than 2015 ... so be it..as long as it's done right...

there's gonna be enough comic book action movies..between now and then.. with superman, ironman 3, hulk 2 and so on...to tie me over..

Daredevil is a B level character anyways. He should make an appearance in another more, worthy character's film, than have his own movie series.

BLADE was a C level character...

Blade worked cause it was out of the ordinary. It felt more like sci fi. Lots of people still dont know its based of a comic book character. It would be alot harder to do with daredevil. He's just a stereotypical super hero with not much going on around him. But the villain would ultimatley make the movie so it depends

Exactly what I was saying. It's a good series, just not a typical comic book series.

Daredevil is a vehicle for a martial arts movie. People love kung-fu/ninjas. Approach it like that and a studio can make a movie people will come to see.

Blade was just a vampire movie with a particular backstory from comics. In the end, people just love vampires.

People would see a good Daredevil movie. The question is does the studio know what a good Daredevil film looks like?

People do love kung fu/ninja flicks but they don't do well at the box office. How well did Ninja Assassin do?

Edit: Never mind, this is how it did:

Ninja Assassin

Domestic Total Gross: $38,122,883
Production Budget: $40 million

I disagree... DD done right would be a gritty noir flick like Sin City but with more action + a ninja movie

I just hope that all the other dark and gritty comics does'nt make a dark and gritty daredevil feel like just another drop in the bucket

Here's the reel that temporally gave director Joe Carnahan the reigns of Daredevil.....meh:

I actually think that TONE and time frame would have been REALLY good...

it DOES capture the Miller gritty...

and even the in flux of karate/kung fu flicks from the 70s some blax-expolitation vibe...

I dont know I would have been really interested...

Frankly, Iron Man was a B level character.

If they made Daredevil movie dark and very street level, more like a martial arts/fighting movie and less like a typical superhero movie, it would work.

Neither were Blade and Iron Man.

Blades success lies with it being a vampire action kung fu horror film, not because the Blade character was a great comic book character. Shit, back when Blade came out, most people who saw it had no idea of his comic roots. Blade is not a typical comicbook film series.

We never knew about the bankability about Iron Man. There was never a previous film starring the character but his character type made it a better risk because due to the his background and the fact that RDJ was brought in for the role.

Theres already been a DD movie and although I didn't hate it, audiences have spoken.

It's in the presentation. Blade wouldn't have been considered a bankable character but he was presented in a strong light and people came to see it. Same with Iron Man, who's own book had rarely been a top seller before the movie and hadn't been for years.
The original DD movie was not a great presentation or a good movie. That said, it opened to $45 million (on a $78 million budget) so people were interested, it just wasn't good.
