Former MLB pitcher C.C. Sabathia releases new book, says "The game is not for us."

I respect CC and I'm sure he believes what he's saying. But if he's complaining about the players of today, He wouldn't have made it back in the day of Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Bob Gibson, Jackie Robinson. Just imagine the issues they had to deal with.

I'm kind of split on this one.

Baseball found the black man's athleticism without the anger and venom caused by slavery by looking across the border and found Spanish players who would take fractions of a signing bonus.

Same old playbook being used today all thru out society.

I'm old enought to remember when MLB Baseball was real black in the early 80's to the mid 90's, after that i don't
know what the hell happened :smh:
It's never even been 25%, maybe not even 20% but it was better back then.

Dude...hes an expert on this topic.

An EXPERT.

Youre not on the outside looking in, youre on another planet looking thru a telescope.

As a former BBall player I can understand what he is saying. But I always looked at the Brothers who paved the way for us starting with Jackie Robinson

That's what turn me onto it because I knew I could play with the majority of folks (White, Latino, Asian, etc.) who played it.

We brothers are unstoppable when it come to doing and achieving something especially when it comes to sports.

"The game may not be for us, but the game was and can be dominated by us!"

Just like the two other major sports, the NBA & NFL.

Believe That

I get it but the difference then that there were no veneers. You knew what it was even though whites have consistently said it was better then than before. At least there was a tacit admission. Today they try to pretend it doesn't even exist which I can see why he would be infuriated.
