Forbes: Cowboys, Redskins Remain Most Valuable NFL Franchises

True indeed but they didn't make it a dome for two reasons...

1. Home field advantage.
The famed winds @ the Meadowlands + the cold in the winter.
Warm weather teams and teams that play in domes (Dallas) have problems playing there when the temperature drops.
2. Cost
To put a dome on the stadium would have added an additional 2~300 million $$$ to the cost of a stadium that alreadycost more than Cowboy stadium yet is not as "grand".
The reason for this is union (it just costs more to build things in the tri-state area) and location (a dome would have to be strong enough to withstand the weight of several tons of snow and ice, unlike Cowboy stadium).

they have one in minnesota and detroit. they fucked up long term money not putting in a dome. the way they built it u can only have soccer games and summer/spring concerts if there's no football going on.

Yeah but Minnesota and Detroit are bitterly cold in the winter, it just would've been cruel NOT to put domes in those spots but at the same time there are no domes in Chicago or Green Bay either!

That's why it's called home field advantage, NO ONE thought that the Giants would be able to win the NFC Championship game there three years ago in that weather.

But we did!

Of course they are.

Daniel Snyder like James Dolan of the Knicks know how to market shitty franchises.

Its all about the stadium...being the largest in the league keeps them at the top, along with their fans.
