Floyd Mayweather the GOAT #50-0

Floyd is the GOAT. Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson fought a bunch of white guys and there was less boxers in their day.
Floyd Mayweather fought white guys like Arturo Gatti,
Bruseles, Ricky Hatton etc.... He has only 49 fights,
where Sugar Ray Robinson had more than 200. In
those days, black people had few sports options and
boxing was one of them. There were 30, 000 registered
professional boxers in New York, where as in this day,
that number is the hundreds. The cacs in those days
were desperate and hungry. These days, such cacs have
moved up in society and do not need to fight to eat.
Black Americans have access to more jobs and better
careers in sports that pay them more; this is to say
nothing of that the criminal injustice system is also
holding hundreds of thousands of young black men
who might have been boxers...

So the competition Floyd has faced pales to that
which existed in the days of Ray Robinson

49-*.
That wasn't a real fight. Doesn't fuckin count.
50* - 0 with the asterisk

Would it have counted if he lost?
it should not have counted regardless....I said in my thread about his boxing legacy:

only the white man can talk some shit and get a title shot or get a shot at the king when its his debut outing :smh::smh::smh:

this is what I'm talking about in terms of floyd's BOXING legacy...mcgregor was beneath him. Sure may is a PRIZE fighter but fuck... if he was guaranteed 300 million to fight a kangaroo would cats still think its good for his boxing legacy???

That's what mcgregor was... a fucking kangaroo...NO ONE who has NO PROFESSIONAL BOXING EXPERIENCE, talking shit about how they can hang with a man who has an UNDEFEATED RECORD should not have been taken seriously period. And fighting that shit besmirches his record and boxing legacy IMO.

50* - o

And 10 rounds??? floyd should have got his ass out of there inside 5 just to prove a point....

Blacks, especially the ones on this site will never embrace a contemporary as goat. Seeing someone their age who excells fuels their own personal insecurities. This is why whenever the convo comes up about black greatness, niggas always want to mention people from 10 generations ago.

Nah. Floyd fought him the way he's fought every fighter since Oscar. The difference is this guy ran out of gas and became vulnerable which is why it ended in a TKO. We can make excuses all day but the fact is this dude isn't a boxer. He's an amateur. Floyd may be forty years old but he's in excellent shape and will always be in excellent shape. This is about why White boy MMA fans can now scream boxing is dead. In their world the MMA dude stepped up and held his own against boxing's best. Are they lying?

Yes, they're lying because the three biggest UFC stars have all taken losses.

Rhonda still can't eat apples.
Jon Jones is probably on suicide watch.
Conor just got beat up by a 40 year old.

Y'all niggas pitiful.

Don't have time to point out all the mental gymnastics being done in here.

You got those who don't want to count the fight because McGregor isn't a "true boxer", those Floyd isn't the greatest because he ain't fight like the old school boxers, those Floyd didn't fight anyone in their prime, those Floyd is better than the old school boxers, those if Floyd is tbe why didn't he finish McGregor off earlier, those Ali is better because what he did out the ring, those Floyd isn't tbe because what he did in the ring, those Floyd's handpicked his opponents, those there is no one on Floyd's level, those Floyd isn't that good a boxer he just runs a lot, Floyd is the best cuz he's undefeated, Rock Marciano is the best cuz he undefeated, LMAO

When you're too good at what you do for your own damn good this is what they say about you.

nope floyd PROVED his point by changing up his whole style,

staying on mcgregor and told the world his whole game plan before the fight, and even predicted it would not go the distance..

floyd is known to study you for the first five rounds and come in for the kill the last five rounds...

floyd gets the W... if he wouldve lost he wouldve gotten the L no asterisk..

50 -0....

Put him up there with the GREATS..

They also follow cacs lead in using inactive black peoples names and legacies to discredit the actives.

We "Blacks" can embrace greatness, we've stated Floyd was great. Just not the greatest ever.

Agreed

They also follow cacs lead in using inactive black peoples names and legacies to discredit the actives.

People do this a lot I must admit.

I wont say he is the goat, but the deflections in this thread are hilarious none the less.

McCraka lost this fight at the press conference. That cac was chewing that gum hard than a muthafucka...I ain't no physiologist but it that wasn't a sign of uncertainty I don't know what is

It counts whether you like it or not.

Pleasantries.

Who gives a fuck? This is MAN talk or at least it should be. The kind of shit where if Floyd was your son and pretended this shot was real, even though it was sanctioned, you would be obli-fuckin-gated to tell him the truth. It was a LOW BAR fight and accomplishment.

There are some LEGIT fighters Floyd could have chosen. You know ANYONE who had at least ONE professional fight (lol).

He should've retired at 49-0 instead of fighting that buster ass. Hey you know what Conner had in common with most twelve year olds? Up until the Floyd fight he (and they) had never had one professional fight. (lol)

It's a pussy fight and you're fighting FOR it. Hmmmm....

He's a common as White boy who was about to make a shitload of money fighting a guy he knew he couldn't beat. He WON the moment he stepped on the stage.

50-0 is a great feat. He did not fight many of the great fighters in their prime, but of course, he did beat all challenges according to judges. Many true boxing loyalist will say he did not win the Castillo fight which is probably true. His k.o. percentage is suspect, but his defense was probably better than any fighter put against him.

The GOAT will always be Ali. He fought in/out of the ring. Nobody can challenge that shit!

To put him as the goat, hell naw. PBF was just a great fighter.

I agree. People act like this 50-0 shit is new. Julio Cesar Chavez shitted on 50-0. What's next? Oh, he lost though. Not before he shitted on 50-0. (lol) Had those dudes had the luxury of making the kind of money boxers make today I think it's pretty fuckin safe to say they would have stopped fighting long before they did and would have probably chased a meaningless accolade of 50-0.

White Folks reaction : First Babe Ruth, now Marciano, who's next. :crymeariver:

That's what Blacks would like to believe but Whites don't care. Even today they think Ruth is the home run king and Marciano's 49-0 with 43 KOs tops Floyd's 50 and let's be honest; Floyd's last opponent doesn't exactly destroy their argument.

Goat? No! Now I will give him credit for being the smartest. To get 250 mil for fighting a slug...

I put this somewhere else: He went after someone to make big money with. It was sanctioned, Conor passed the physical. It counts. Nothing to argue over.

Not even that. If he plays big bank take little bank with Floyd would win that too. Also how much us Dana White making off McGregor this fight??

Who knows. The Floyd model is Floyd's alone. Everybody else has to split money. Either way he's made far more cash than he'd ever make fighting MMA.

Chavez record includes a lot of Mexican cab drivers.

Btw...

"On April 3 of that year, when he was 11-0, Chavez fought Miguel Ruiz at Culiacan. At or shortly after the bell ending the first round, Chavez apparently knocked out Ruiz. The referee declared Chavez the loser on a first-round disqualification."

"Whatever you want to make of it, the result was officially overturned so we called him unbeaten when we televised one of his fights."

Mastro said that no commission can overturn a referee's judgment call. He cites a 1952 New York State Supreme Court case involving a Joey Giardello fight. According to Mastro, the court ruled that the New York State Athletic Commission had no authority to overturn a referee's judgment call.

"That's an important legal concept in boxing, that you can't overturn a referee's judgment call," Mastro said. "And its intent is to keep politics out of boxing."

Ralph Citro of Blackwood, N.Y., who publishes an annual boxing record book, Computer Boxing Update, calls Chavez 67-1.

"The referee disqualified Chavez in that fight, and that's how I've always carried it," he said. "I got it from a very good Culiacan source that that reversal was wrong, that it should never have happened."

Tyson's early wins were against nobodies. Does it diminish his record and accomplishments? Nope. It's ironic you mention those Mexican cab drivers but clearly have no issues with Floyd fighting an amateur. 67-1 huh? Pretty fuckin impressive.

So he knocked a muthafucka out? Man shit versus track star shit.

Bruh you brought up the fact that Chavez has an 80 plus and 0. In reality he doesn't have an 80 plus 0 record because he was disqualified in one fight. Plus we're are talking about Floyds 50 and 0 (not Mike Tyson).
You shitted on Floyd's 50-0 by bringing up Chavez mostly padded record.

I wasn't even thinking about it in terms of the record. I thought about it as an easy money grab.

Shit. Ain't nobody grabbed more money or will EVER grab more money than Floyd. Dude cut the middleman out and that was all she wrote. People going to miss him when he's gone. (If he's actually gone)

Two things. The disqualification was overruled by a governing body OUTSIDE of the United States so the argument that you can't change the decision after it was rendered by a referee is moot. Simply put, the could, they did and justifiably so clearly based on his STELLAR career. He knocked a muthafucka OUT (something sorely missed after Floyd moved up to Welterweight) when the bell sounded. To even suggest that we put an asterisk on a fighter who routinely sent muthafuckas to the hospital versus the after party like Floyd's victims is a little weak. If folk need to work this hard to elevate Floyd's 50 wins then it clearly leaves a lot to be desired. Take the money. Take the HOF nod but leave the TBE shit to the guys who did miraculous shit like fighting at Welterweight and winning Light-Heavyweight Championships and shit. Far more impressive and worthy of being in the "best" conversation that beating the likes of midgets like Ricky Hatton or knocking out a man with his hands down like Victor Ortiz (who deserved that shit but anyway).

50-0. Someones gotta win 51 straight and retire undefeated to be greater than Floyd. Hands down the greatest boxer of all time.
HOW????
Not when you cherry pickin the fuck out of your opponents.
like I said.
Berto for #49?
Conor for #50?
Who's gonna be #51,
Diamond Dallas Paige???
