Floyd Mayweather Seals His Fate with Boxing Fans by Inking Andre Berto Mismatch

I'm not having this conversation with ppl trying to prop a mfer up that's been boring as hell scared to throw combinations in fights cause he wanna hurry up outta there n cherry picking which suppose to be his farewell fight

Bottomline i was a major supporter n stuck up for Floyd at work n online arguing with mfers for a person i don't even know fuck that half the shit ppl saying about him is right whether yall wanna admit it or not

Oh ya mean. The undefeated guy? The richest boxer in history w a shit ton of titles in several weight classes who's lasted longer than all others before him?

He got his money so he doesn't care. But I could deal with this. Berto and Floyd have a history because Floyd thought he was fucking with Ms. Jackson. It may be better than we think (which isn't saying much.)

I'm more upset that the undercard is garbage. He said he have 2 - 3 young champions fighting.

I'll still watch it though. Just not paying.

Floyd got cherry picking down to a science, I cant hate because thats his choice, & others have done it especially for financial reasons, it would have been nice to see him fight paul Williams/mosley/forrest/marguerito in their primes...Oscar,Tyson & Camacho did it too. those sactioning bodies like to protect their boxers from dangerous fights, I get it, so its not all his fault, but Berto...C"mon

  • Paul Williams was too big. I knew that fight wasn't going to happen.
  • He called out Shane (and DLH) earlier but Shane pulled the "tooth ache" and only fought him after his manager/ex wife cleaned him out.
  • Vernon Forrest died.
  • Floyd fought DLH instead on Margarito and it made him. In the meantime Margarito fought Cotto, Shane, got suspended, returned and got his face beat in by Pacquiao and then beat by Cotto. When was this fight supposed to happen?

who is more popular and polished at welterweight ?

I was hoping for Kell Brook. At least if he won he'd unify the welterweight titles on his way how.

Maidana made a name for himself on a national scale by beating Broner. Floyd has had a tendency of fighting the "hot" guy at the time, going back to Ricky Hatton.

He was the Welterweight champ as well.

Thurman has an 0 though and he only looked ordinary in his last fight against a vet who has given quite a few people trouble and is highly respected. He shits on Berto. He's no more than a gate keeper right now. To say he's as deserving of this fight as Thurman or Porter is foolish...

Let's keep it real: that PBC boxing was the opportunity for Garcia, Khan, Thurman and Porter to show themselves to the world and was their audition to get a Mayweather fight. None of them showed they deserved it.

They should have been fighting each other and then the winner got Floyd.

Berto slow as shit and won't hardly touch Floyd I thought Bradley would've been a much better opponent and he has a belt

Yeah, the one the WBO stripped Mayweather of...... I'm sure Floyd is like fuck the WBO!!!

I'm not looking forward to the Berto fight either, but as many times before. I will tune in because I'm a boxing fan..........

Understanding that.. None of them lost either, AND Porter dominated Broner and made him look ordinary...

So, in line with your logic, what has Berto done to prove he deserved this fight

Floyd explains his reasoning for fighting Berto...

You look at the junior middleweight and the welterweight division. The two divisions: one division I'm undisputed champion at... The other division I hold two titles at.

There’s one man that stands all alone, Floyd Mayweather. So I looked at the division, I looked and said 'who’s always in a tough, exciting fight, who has quick hands, who’s a boxer puncher, who always give it 100 per cent every time they go out.' (It's) Andre Berto.

This Motherfucker right her!?!?!?! THIS MOTHERFUCKER!?!?!?!?

Go to the 52:00 mark..... THIS MOTHERFUCKER RIGHT HERE!!

Porter shouldn't have been the choice either. He's not ready for Floyd. He's too green. Berto will give him a better fight. It's probably going to be good the first few rounds.. like the Zab fight (with Berto landing less though) but those final rounds gonna be lopsided as hell..Berto gets winded and he has low IQ. Floyd gonna coast the second round of the fight.

I would have rather seen Bradley.

Floyd explains his reasoning for fighting Berto...

Floyd already gave his real reasoning. I watched an interview where he pretty much said he wanted an easier fight to get to 49..and he kind of hinted at making a superfight to try to get to 50-0.

He was just being blunt in that interview and I think this fight is more about finishing up his contract and saying in good fighting form in preparation for his final fight (50).

I feel you, my agg ain't with Floyd, it's with the fools in here trying to justify Berto as a good fight is all...

Maybe, however, the same way Porter isn't ready and Floyd may dominate him, he's coming off a big win, made Floyds boy look ordinary, is a champ and has never been knocked out. It will be the same end result as Berto... Berto just got knocked out by a bum with 10 losses fam... No matter which way it's sliced, this is a BS fight Bruh... :smh:

I've already said Berto hasn't done anything but (allegedly) fucked with Ms. Jackson.

Berto also has shoulder issues and he failed drug tests.

I would have rather seen Bradley.

I think they promotional issues would fuck up the Bradley fight. You see how long it took to iron out the Pacquiao fight. Imagine another go around the negotiating table with him?

I think Khan is garbage and would have rather seen Khan in there and I REALLY didn't think Khan deserved the fight.. I've been shitting on Khan for years.

Oh. I'm not putting that on Floyd. I don't think a Bradley fight was even a real option. I'm just saying that's who I would like to see him fight at Welter as I feel he could give him the best fight.

I think Khan is garbage and would have rather seen Khan in there and I REALLY didn't think Khan deserved the fight.. I've been shitting on Khan for years.

I keep saying this. Khan fucked himself. he has the biggest name of the other welterweights but who did he beat at Welterweight to earn the fight? Algieri jumped in his ass, and Devon Alexander is a blown up jr. welter. He could have fought Kell Brook or Thurman and he turned it down.

That's another reason I think Floyd gave the fight to Berto. Because he is Khan's stablemate and it is going to fuck with him. He's already trying to get out of his deal with Haymon because he thought it would get him the Floyd fight and now he trying to get that Pacquiao fight in Dubai next year.

Broner IS ordinary though. So I don't think Porter looked that great in the fight. Keith Thurman didn't look good in his left fight. So those two really didn't make the leap.

Now Berto hasn't really don't shit either..but it's not like there was a clear choice.. I think Floyd just said..I want to beat Berto and I want an easier fight for my 49th... I really think it was just that... He was going to need to carry the entire marketing regardless of anyone he chose at welter so he just said.fuck it.. let me go ahead and beat up on Berto.. :smh:

I've said this 1,000 times on BGOL boxing threads. When Floyd has had the little trouble he's had its been to guys with superior hand speed. Zab wobbled him as did Shane and Castillo. All three of those dudes have fast hands. The heavy handed punchers like Danny Garcia or Andre Berto have no shot. They just can't keep up. So if Floyd wants a big fight in his weight class he should fight one of the Brits. Either Amir Khan or Kell Brook. I can almost hear dudes laughing at me about Khan because they say he has no chin but his chin was only exposed by huge punchers (Garcia and Maidana). I don't know if the 39 year old Floyd has enough power left to hurt Khan and keep Khan away. The other dudes Floyd will just out box. Lets see him in there with a quick guy.

I hope Floyd ignores all the bullshit articles like this, wins 2 more fights and hangs them up.The man is 38 years old. For years, people were saying he was "ducking" Pacquiao. After he soundly beats him, people complain that the fight wasn't entertaining enough and that Pac was past his prime(he is younger than Floyd). Before him,Canelo was the up and comer supposed to beat him. Before him Cotto and Ortiz. He beat JMM before that and I vividly remember white cats hyping the fuck out of Hatton before he KOed him.The media won't be happy until he loses. He needs to win these 2 fights, hang em up, and then make his arguments.Rocky Marciano was out there fighting part time fighters and shit. I'm not seeing the media pushing a Pacquiao-Canelo fight.

Pacman style of fighting ages quicker then floyd. That's like comapring a 46 year old Georgeforeman vs a 38 Ali (if foreman was older). He was past his prime point blank period.

forgot this shit was on tonite...how they went from offering it free on CBS to charging $75 for this bum ass fight

Welterweight 12 rounds - MGM Grand - Las Vegas, Nevada - PPV
Sat 9/12 501 Andre Berto +1500 o11½ -255
11:00PM 502 Floyd Mayweather Jr -3000 u11½ +215

Makes sense....wouldn't be surprised if he did the GGG for the 50th at 154 which Floyd has never made.

But even if he does that mofokrs will find something to complain about.

your comparison is backwards...

a power puncher ages slower than a fighter who relies on reflexes and a 46 year old Foreman would have killed a 38 year old Ali.

Mayweather uses reflexes and timing and that should go long before a sluggers skills.

Pacman was just outclassed...

peace

A phone or pc screen watch, fuck a bigger screen.

Floyd's in his charity Louis bag

You pesudo boxing fans kill me... May is the best in the ring adjustment fight in boxing hands down

Yes Zab, Shane and Castillo had them quick hands but talk about after round 4 and on in all them fights what happen? May surgical sliced all those at will...

He will do the same shit to Khan..

I can see it, but then again I don't know if he takes on GGG...dude is huge. You think he can come down successfully? His last fight was underwhelming like Thurman & all the others...

There definitely will be a 50th fight

Fuck yall let a black man make some money off mayweather. A bunch of Hispanics and an Asian have caked off him. Let a black man eat.
And I approve this message..C/S 100%

P.S For some strange reason I have the feeling that although Andre Berto is a HUGE underdog in this fight somehow he's gonna end up doing better than most people think or expected.
