You must be not heard "Future's"musicNever once heard a rapper promote drug use, and I don't consider weed a drug. Rocks stars are known for their cocaine parties and orgies which rarely included any black folks.

Guess I am out of touch because I don't listen to any of these new gen man purse wearing rappers. You must be not heard "Future's"music
No, I'm saying why at you expecting people performing for profit to have other peoples best interest at heart when the do what they do???Are you saying it's okay to promote drug use as long as your getting paid?
This a whole lotta deflecting to get around the fact that he's right about drug use being a popular theme in rap. That's a fact. No, I'm saying why at you expecting people performing for profit to have other peoples best interest at heart when the do what they do???
Drug use in music isnt new. We grew up listening to worse shit, than they have now. But unless your real role models completely wet the bed, you didn't go out and do the shit they said in the songs, right??? But cause it's rap, it's gotta be the root cause for all of our communities ills, when it's just a reflection of it. There are reasons for that, that have little to do with black people though. But famous folks won't ever go that far. Just point the finger at surface shit.
This ninja can barley read is he to be a role model because he can slip a punch??? Then why are rappers???
O'really ?????? You defiantly can't be serious!Never once heard a rapper promote drug use, and I don't consider weed a drug. Rocks stars are known for their cocaine parties and orgies which rarely included any black folks.
Then he's right about ALL FUCKING MUSIC and he should say ALL MUSIC. I swear ninjas ONLY come down on the easy targets. Should I say Floyd is popularizing illiteracy???This a whole lotta deflecting to get around the fact that he's right about drug use being a popular theme in rap. That's a fact.
How about we as men do our best to guide and teach the young people instead of pointing the finger at "artists" trying to get paid??? We'd definitely see better longterm results.
He's right. Cats went from telling about dope to selling dope and now doing dope on wax.

I hate the defense drugs in music isn't new, that's a terrible defense. That's saying well they did so we should be able to do it.There's a big difference in what's being put out now compared to the music of the 60's,70' S, 80's involing drugs. Today's music is a lot worse than the music of today.
Never once heard a rapper promote drug use, and I don't consider weed a drug.
That's where positive role models and environments come into play. Like I said, it's not new, we grew up on it too. Not saying it's how shit has to be. But they're artists trying to sell a product to their fanbase. It's not their job to raise your kids. But if the radio is constantly playing these subliminal messages some young people will end up corrupted (hooked, seller, dead or in jail)
It sure ain't helping is it?So a song that came out couple months ago is to blame?
good point. just look at the way mike & prince (supposedly) died.Parliment, Bootsy Collins, Sly and the family stone, was some coke sniffing, acid dropping, pcp smoking as people along with everything else.
Just part of the music game, I guess its true if your in a funk and need some creative expression to write a few songs get fucked up out your skull and that guitar keyboard will start playing itself![]()
They even got dance to it......
Maybe. This was around 1981. There were a few leftovers junkies from the 60's-70's, but you rarely saw them.Maybe not in your community.
Meanwhile he owns a strip club which is basically a way for telling women they don't have to get real jobs for a living, just take off your clothes and degrade yourself.

Back in the early 80's I remember going to middle school and seeing all he white druggies. They lived by the saying "sex, drugs, and rock and roll." I was a culture shock to us. There were no drugs in the black community back then. We only had a few older cats who smoked weed and drank beer.
Drug use is popular in MUSIC.
blaming rap for it solely is a miscarriage of justice.

True indeed. The challenge is positive has to appear "cool" and evidence of being successful to them. Sad it is that way but true.
