Fitness Heads: Weighted Dips For Chest Width/Thickness

I've been doing both dumbbell and Barbell bench press for the past year or so and I'm not really impressed with the width of my chest relative to my back. I think I'm struggling to establish the good ol' muscle mind connection. My shoulders and triceps seem to be doing most of the work during press exercises. :dunno:

My back, shoulders, arms and traps are pretty good, but chest is a week point for me man. :smh:

Anyone had any success doing weighted dips to build chest width and thickness. share your experiences fam.

I have fuk'd up shoulders, can't hit the dips like that. I do dumbell and barbell press hitting fla, incline and decline. You may wanna throw push ups into your routine.

Yeah, I need to cop a belt and start doing them. Pressing exercises are just making my shoulders bigger, but are doing fuck-all for my chest. :smh:

No doubt... variety is good bro. Just watch your form like mcguyver said 'cause you can fuck your shoulders up nicely if you try and bite off more than you can chew. Start with bodyweight only... get your form down well before you start adding weight you can vary the angle to hit your triceps harder or to focus on your chest.

Yeah lean forward and dip for chest & tri. No lean for just tri. Weights aren't necessary to gain strength. Extend all the way down with control too.

I'm not focusing on strength. My aim is hypertrophy. This is why I'm willing to add weights to my dips.
