First AVENGERS, now THUNDERCATS

I wasnt saying it like they should just stop making them, but why not just keep The Brave and The Bold ? Why do a whole new series ? I hope this Batman is more like the one of the 90's cause this previous one just didn't sit right with me, you had episodes where Batman was fighting crime in the daytime, once at a museum...when have you ever seen this in a BM cartoon ?

You know what, I wasn't a big fan of "Brave and the Bold". I watched it and some episodes were fun and it was the first time a lot of DC second stringers got any shine but Batman was too nice and too perfect and resembled more the Batman from the 60s and 70s and not the more recent, more true to the source material version.

It seems like this previous one was mostly catered toward little kids

Hold up avengers got canceled

yup, afraid so

I don't even remember that one so it might have been one of the ones that didn't leave an impression.

This shit.

NEW SERIES
Nick Cannon Sketch Comedy Series
Annoying Orange
DreamWorks Dragons
New LEGO Project
Ben 10: Omniverse
Beware the Batman
Total Drama: Revenge of the Island

Another Batman cartoon, really?

F all y'all haters of the Thundercats. It was a very well developed show, only gripe I have is Mumm-Ra used to be funny, bring that back.

The problem I had w/Thundercats was Lion-O and Mum-Ra both were pussies. Panthro was straight fodder. And Tygra was a whiny bitch! The only characters they improved on were the kittens and Cheetarah... and I hate the kittens no matter what re-telling they are in. The old cartoon for me was the purpose of the Thundercat call. This series just seemed like Lion-o was being babysat the entire time, thus no need for the Thundercat call. So he ends up growing on some each one teach one, it takes a village type -ish.

Did they even find Mum-Ra's weakness of his reflection? I mean every episode from back in the day, if Mum-Ra was in it the first thing he did was transform into "something" this dude will go entire seasons before transforming (generally speaking) Don"t get me wrong I am not saying how superior the old series is to the new, but this particular series is weak for theses reasons

You I initially disliked it until I realized the tone and setting they were going for...

as a long time DC I remember Bat-mite and whole comics JUST LIKE the series..

and it was actually smarter as it went along characters DIED, they broke the 4th wall and they showed some 3rd tier characters that I NEVER thought I would see on TV in my entire life..

If you were a fan of DC comics in the 70s and 80s before the "DARK Age" this really hit your heart...

but it was geared more for real young children and long time older fans...

I really hope this NEW series goes back to Batman Animated Series excellence...

I recently saw that Batman Beyond and looking BACK it was actually a REALLY good series, I may actually get the box set:D

This is the first promo image for Beware The Batman, the new Batman cg animated series set to debut on Cartoon Network in 2013. In comments on blogs and tumblers across the online-o-sphere, it’s getting torn to shreds, mostly over a.) the art style, b.) the fact that the asian girl sidekick is Katana, not the Cassie Cain Batgirl, and c.) Alfred is shooting guns.

For whatever it’s worth, that promo image has me more excited about anything DC animated since JLU ended, and I CAN’T FUCKING WAIT FOR THIS! A.) I like the stylized look…only thing bothering me are Batman’s skinny licken chegs, but more importantly it’s an animated series adapting Grant Morrison story-lines (never, ever expected to see Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad on teevee), it could have stick figure art and i’d love it, B.) I’d rather have Cassie, but Katana is a very interesting choice, and the characters do have a history, and C.) Alfred with guns blazing = Norman from The Big O = utopia.

Unless i’ve gone all aspie and am completely misreading this, it’s promising something much darker and more adult than any superhero animated series i’ve ever seen, and i’m completely in. Please Mattel, please make a Professor Pyg action figure.

Premise

Crime-fighting vigilante Batman teams up with swordmistress Katana and his gun-toting ex-secret agent[3] butler Alfred Pennyworth to face the criminal underworld led by Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad, King Kraken, and Magpie.

Development

After Batman: The Brave and the Bold ended its run in November 2011, a new series went under production, so that Batman could return to a more "serious tone."[5] When the series was first unveiled it was announced that lesser known villains would be introduced. Sam Register explained "We went in deeper into the villain library and pulled out some other villains" and the studio did not want the series to do another "Joker story".[6][7] With Batman receiving a new sidekick, Outsiders member Katana, Register even commented that "Katana is gonna be his new Robin, but not necessarily."[1] The series will be computer-animated in a CGI format, similar to Green Lantern: The Animated Series's animation style, the CGI has been described as "cutting edge."

again Avengers will still come on but not this current version

Marvel Cancels ‘Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ in Favor of ‘Avengers Assemble’
“‘The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ won’t be renewed for the 3rd Season. Marvel Animation will present their newly developed series ‘Marvel’s Avengers Assemble’ in 2013.”

avengers-assemble-cartoon

Marvel made a similar choice in the past when they replaced the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series with the less critically-acclaimed Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. While there’s still very little information about Avengers Assemble, it will apparently feature the same core characters as the Avengers movie with the addition of Falcon (who is rumored to be part of the upcoming Captain America 2 film). Hank Pym and Black Panther are expected to show up later in the series.

Fans of Avengers: EMH are undoubtedly gutted by the news of the popular show’s demise, which featured solid characters and writing based on classic Marvel comics stories – but the fact that the show would not see a third season has been hinted for some time now.

Back in April, Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel Animation, gave some cryptic comments on the show’s future and even refused to answer direct questions as to whether or not the beloved cartoon would be renewed for a third season:

“I can only tell you that we’re committed to ‘The Avengers’ universe and that’s as far as I can go. We have big plans for ‘The Avengers.’”
After smashing box office records by bringing in over a billion dollars, it looks like Marvel seeks to ride the wave of the Avengers movie as far as it will take them. While seemingly a great idea, this can be a double-edged sword, as it further removes the classic (and current) comic book series from other Marvel media. Ultimately, Marvel could slap the brands of the Avengers, Spider-Man, and X-Men on pretty much anything and it would do fairly well, but as The Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes and the ’90s X-Men cartoon have proven, connecting an animated series with classic comic stories can result in great overall success.

In other superhero animation news, Marvel has announced the renewal of Ultimate Spider-Man for a second season. Season two will see Spidey teaming up with Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and the Hulk. Also, Buffy the Vampire Slayer bad-girl-turned-good-girl Eliza Dusku will be lending her voice to Disney XD’s upcoming Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H as the Hulk’s buxom cousin, She-Hulk. The series will feature the original (green) Hulk, Red Hulk, Skaar (Hulk’s son), and A-Bomb (the new Abomination).

Avengers Assemble will air on Disney XD next year.

No, don't bring that back. Mumm-Ra shouldn't be funny, he should be absolutely evil.

This shit.

Who said that was his weakness now?
I keep telling you guys to let the old series and your comparisons and expectations go. Take the new series as it is, love it or hate it.

Dumb fucks cancelled the show for the same reason they cancelled Symbiotic Titan and He-Man...the toys weren't selling.:angry::angry:

Stupid assed reason to cancel a show people were watching. Adventure Time continues to dominate their airwaves.:smh:

Fuck what anybody says, including you nostalgic fucks...THIS Thundercats series was a better product. The writing was superior and the overall tone was more mature. I have love for the old series...because I grew up watching it as a kid, but even old school can be improved upon.

The old version was a perfect vehicle to sell toys, this one wasn't. It was far too mature and being a weekly show instead of a daily one, was paced too slowly.
