Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’ him

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

Wake up lil sweetie; Lamar is misleading people (again) into believing that you're unqualified and uneducated by not telling everyone that you were on break! - though TSA rules require that you rest in the break area, instead of in public.

I don't have to mislead nobody, the picture tells it all. I didn't say she was uneducated or unqualified but the picture suggests she was sleep......in public....against TSA rules.....I aint say sh*t :)

I think the govt is too big now and a lot of govt employees are overpaid.

Which ones ? ? ?

How bout this guy?

And public service sector employees don't loaf?
I know you've probably loafed at one time of another and I don't even know you.

By the way if this is the crux of your argument against government workers then you fail in that regard sir!

You're right, you didn't "have to" mislead -- but you did, which is why you've still omitted the fact that the woman was ON FUCKING BREAK !

Yes you did; you posted the pics in reponse to Dave's comment to the effect that:

Government workers tend to be better educated and have more work experience so they should be better compensated.

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

I guess we need more private sector retail and service jobs like in Texas, right?

Personally, I think Perry would be terrible for America but these politicians still don't understand the fundamentals of a healthy economy. I'd like to see Pres. Obama policies that emphasize saving & producing as opposed to borrowing & consumption.

We don't need another f*ckin jobs bill, just competent policy! And stop these bullsh*t wars.....Syria on deck

We've had over 16 forms of stimulus over the past 10 years and the only thing we have to show for it is a growing inequality between classes, more debt & over 9% unemployment.

Amen!!!
Yes I see the light, now!! More freedom for the private sector!!!!
Yessssss, the jobs will trickle down, while the income redistributes up to the top- just like it has the past 30 years of this failed economic theory!

All the jobs worth having have been shipped overseas with the free trade policies that are good for the corporations and bad for the American worker!

I mention Texas because this is America's reality: RETAIL AND SERVICE SECTOR JOBS!!

Get ready for MORE of this:

Can you explain that for clarity

All the jobs worth having have been shipped overseas with the free trade policies that are good for the corporations and bad for the American worker!

We agree, get rid of NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO. Those are not free trade agreements, They are managed trade agreements for the good of the multi-national corps. Pres Obama said something about NAFTA when he was campaigning but it's still there.

Govt seems like one of the few employers whose workers get raises. In
most private sector jobs workers actually saw their salaries decline while people in upper management got big bonuses. Low wages are not good unless you are a slaveowner.

Okay, now how does a wage comparison equate to being over paid ? ? ?

Could it be the civilian position paying an average less than the comparable government position is, ahem, underpaid ???

What is the criteria you used to determine over/under paid ???

I'm asking these questions because it is not apparent to me, from the wage comparison, how you arrived at your conclusions.

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

Well if you are in the private market and you have to leave your current position.. (layoffs, fucked up boss or just ready for something new) You have to look at what the market is offering for your skills and experience. The govt has gotten away from this and just put people in a job and pay them with guaranteed raises and step increase every year. When the recession hit a lot of companies froze pay. Some under performers had pay cuts. If they even kept their jobs. The govt still gave out pay raises and step increases. This year Obama claimed he was freezing govt pay which he did but he still allowed the step increases. I have worked with a few companies and it is the norm every 5 years or so to do a process review. Check out the positions and do a salary comparison what the market is paying. I know people don't like the idea but when you are this much in debt sometimes you have to take extreme measures. The chart I showed doesn't even take into account the benefits and pension. I grew up in a town where the federal govt provided most of the jobs. Those were some of the laziest people I ever met. They felt like they were entitled to everything. I would see a lot of them doing all types of shit when they were supposed to be at work.

I've noticed the same thing. The sense of entitlement, and air of arrogance is rather unsettling. Whether it is teachers, cops, the courts, or the Federal government, once they have been there 5 years or more, it is as if they feel like society owes them a job, without any requirement to actually perform.

The stories about incompetent teachers, corrupt/criminal cops, lazy bureaucrats, and racist courts are so common as to be cliche. And, there are always too many "managers" in every government agency and not enough "workers".

It is because there is no sense of accountability since they are insulated from the consequences of their actions, unlike the private-sector, like being fired, sued, or charged.

These government workers are strangling the economy. But, they don't care, because they feel "entitled" to a paycheck, no matter what is happening in the economy or usefulness of their "job" in government.

My dad is with the Federal government, HUD. And, he is my dad and all, but he told me himself he has no intention of doing any work. He has been there for 13 years making a 6-figure salary. And, he says his whole office is like that. They replace incompetent manager with incompetent manager. In fact, they asked my Dad if he wanted to be a manager, but knew that was how they fail you upwards (fail as manager then promote you at another location), and since he liked being where he is, passed on the offer.

This is just one Federal agency, in one large city, in one building. Just imagine this all over the country, and it becomes easy to see why there is so much waste, debt, and inefficiency. It's Soviet-style bureaucracy... near impossible to actually get anything done. I shudder to think what the military is like.

CT, that so-called market that you're looking at varies itself, doesn't it? That is, what employers tend to pay widget-makers in San Francisco is not the same as what employers may be paying widget-makers in Peoria, Biloxi, Cleveland, Chicago, or Atlanta. So, how do you determine which one of those markets are under/over payers ???

Combining and averaging the wages of widget-makers nationwide, simply gives you a national average -- but not a determinant of whether widget-makers anywhere are being over/under paid -- just whether widget-makers in one locale are paid more/less than widget makers in another locale.

The govt has gotten away from this and just put people in a job and pay them with guaranteed raises and step increase every year.

What does that say, however, for the government widget-makers who are paid less than widget-makers in Atlanta ???

There are numerous arguments that could be made, on both sides of the argument, but simply saying the government has a fixed rate does not, vel non, show that the government widget-makers are overpaid. Does it ???

When the recession hit a lot of companies froze pay. Some under performers had pay cuts. If they even kept their jobs. The govt still gave out pay raises and step increases. Oh, so you're mad that some government widget-makers ended up making more than you after your private widget-producer-employer failed to give you a step increase, cut your pay, failed to pay you what the "local market" was paying widget-makers, and/or laid you off during the economic downturn -- and Obama didn't refuse step increases, cut pay, or layoff government widget-makers ???

Thats the only conclusion that I could come to because -- I didn't see how what you said had anything to do with whether government widget-makers were/are overpaid.

The chart I showed doesn't even take into account the benefits and pension. I grew up in a town where the federal govt provided most of the jobs. This is so fraught with error, violating all the known rules of logic, that a response would simply be unproductive. So I won't bother.

But, if they replace one incompetent manager with another incompetent manager and the person who told you all of this hearsay was offered to be a manager, what does that say about that person, according to YOUR/HIS logic ???

So, just because you don't want to hear it, you get to decide it is illogical for everyone. That's sounds like the presumptuousness that is rife in the court system. Oh, the stories I could tell about lawyers and judges who thought they knew more than me about my own cases.

But, I digress...

if "the person" (as you call them) works for HUD and...

has nothing good to say about the managers at HUD,
yet feels they "deserve" their 6-figure check each year,
for avoiding work as much as possible,
for more than 10 years,

I think it's reasonably clear the conclusion being made about the work ethic of Federal government "workers".

And, you have not given any personal experience (hearsay, second-hand, or whatever you want to call it) to counter it. In fact, you seem more intent on attacking than on defending. But, that figures.

Deflection is your game.

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

Wait, wait . . .

Before we get to the rest of the innuendo, what about your replacement of one incompetent manager for another incompetent manager theory???

Did the nomination of your source for manager mean that they had changed the rule - or - just business as usual ???

From whose perspective? Mine or "the source" (as you call him)?

I thought my position was clear on government "workers" and their "contributions" to the economy.

So, which is it?

Well Mr. Cruise, since you seem unable to let it slide off of your lips; according to your logic and the logic of the person who related the information to you: if "They replace incompetent manager with incompetent manager" and they offered your source a managerial position, then your source is incompetent as well.

I asked whether they had changed the the Incompetent Replacement Rule, (the "IRR"), but clearly you failed to respond -- so us low functioning mofo's could only assume that they hadn't replaced the IRR (meaning they were still replacing one incompetent with another incompetent), therefore, the IRR was still in full force and effect.

Hence, by your own tacit admission your source is Incompetent, thus, all the rest of the so-called facts in your post above are incompetent coming from an incompetent source.

Yes... think of that. HUD and the Federal government allow incompetence for years and decades without 1 person getting fired.

You said it yourself, HUD (and the Federal government) are a source for incompetence.

Yet, they are supposed to "fix" the economy?

No wonder it is so bad (and getting worse).

I feel pretty safe in saying that there is as much incompetence in the public sector as there is in the private sector. But that is no excuse for you to come into this thread and knowingly use incompetent facts and think we wouldn't know any better. What do you take us for? - incompetents too ?

I agree but at least in the private sector they will fire you.

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

Ah, the bashing of the "government worker", one old, tired saw that only the foolish still believe.
The government worker I see most often takes old people to doctor appts and tends to their general welfare and has often been the best example for young people in the system who's families have and continue to fail them.
I've had great teachers and bad ones. Met great cops and pure assholes. People, like the now well known Shirly Sherrod, who's job and duty it is to help people in difficult, hard to navigate situations they would never have been able to take care of themselves. I'm sure the same people who talk about the negative "government workers" they've met have met positive examples too but it doesn't fit their agenda to remember or talk about them.

Wage Slavery aka Private sector employment

Proponents of the viewpoint that the condition of wage workers has substantial similarities (as well as some advantages and disadvantages) vis a vis chattel slavery, argued that:

Since the chattel slave is property, his value to an owner is in some ways higher than that of a worker who may quit, be fired or replaced. The chattel slave's owner has made a greater investment in terms of the money he paid for the slave. For this reason, in times of recession, chattel slaves could not be fired like wage laborers. A "wage slave" could also be harmed at no (or less) cost. American chattel slaves in the 19th century had improved their standard of living from the 18th century and, according to historians Fogel and Engerman plantation records show that slaves worked less, were better fed and whipped only occasionally—their material conditions in the 19th century being "better than what was typically available to free urban laborers at the time".

Capitalism is consensual slavery. A person agrees to a contract where another person owns them. If govt does not regulate the workplace the owners will eventually take everything from the worker/slave thats where the American and world economy is today. 1% controls all the resources and govts have designated them as 'too big to fail'.

Re: Fired-up rep. Waters to black voters: We don‘t criticize obama because you ’love’

200 years ago when the govt and market were young, trying to establish a identity, this important to the job mentality might have worked. We know now that rich people will hoard money, bring in illegal workers, use robots, animals anything to keep the money in their pockets. Today the govt has to be about regulating wealth distribution or 1% of the population will have the other 90% working for little or nothing.

THat is silly and demonstrably untrue. There is creative destruction happening all the time (except when we allow the gov. to prop up failing special interests, who are deemed too big to fail). Take a look at the largest companies from 100 years ago, and see how many are still around.

Question...isn't 'creative destruction' a oxymoron..lol
