I recently purchased on Fire with xmbc installed. I wanted to cut the cord but am having trouble finding live TV... Where can I find it? Also, is the picture quality?

Recently moved & got stuck with bullshit Cox cable. I'm coming from u-verse which was world's better(content & picture wise)....anyway fuck Cox. Which do you guy's recommend, ATV or Fire TV, to get started with?

It's not too late to root your Fire TV.
Most stores still have the rootable versions.
Just don't buy one through Amazon.com
As far as root goes, the only good most people will find is that it lets you bypass the Amazon homescreen and launch straight into XBMC
Rooting also lets you hook up a USB hard drive

The bestadd-ons imo are:
IPTV for live premium movie channels
Genesis/Icefilm for movies,tv shows, etc
SportsDevil for sports
Phoenix is good for international shit
To find good add-ons use SuperRepo,Fusion,Lambda repository (google them)
oh yeah... if you get the Showbox zip, you can add it as well
Tomorrow Im going to download the Total installer program and see how it works.. I think it has alot of the addons you need
Lastly since this Is BGOL...There are plenty of good porn addons too

Ive been getting high quality/hd streams... I let them load up for a couple of minutes and there hasn't been any lag.. I watched Power and Penny Dreadful and they were great...
The live premium channels were good quality when I tried them as well.. I didn't get to try them much..but I will throughout the week and give feedback..

No there's no need to sign up. Just look in the most watched in past 24 hrs or past week. Will see different streams to watch that people host and maintain. It's where you'll find porn and streams of live TV channels. When you find stuff you like, add them to your favorites and can always have it stored on that device.
You can sign up, but maybe that stores your data across other installed NaviX's, I dont know, never went thru all that.

Videodevil from the superrepo gets you access to all the popular tube sites. You can also browse by category. Just change your view to thumbnails and you're in business with a wall of black (or whatever you choose) porn.

IPTV Stalker is working well for me for the most part. the streams are inconsistent. sometimes they wll connect, sometimes they wont. some channels have better quality than others, but i've been able to watch fox sports 1, history channel, espn pretty consistently.
Ice Films has also been good. The HD films are decent quality, but not all of the links work... which is par for the course as far as internet downloads go.
For a cord cutter it, this kodi app is a godsend. It gives just enough access to tv to make it worthwhile. I compare kodi vs standard cable to a linux vs apple or windows scenario. It's more complicated, and takes more work, but in the end you can do most of the same stuff,(sometimes not as well) and there is extra stuff available on kodi that you can't do with cable, if you take the time to figure it out.

the kodi UI is so damn perfect...I like the blue skin it comes w/...forgot the name...can't help but smile when that shit turns on and I'm getting ready to play a movie/show

after a few weeks now maybe... this xmbc is so/so for me
when it works, it's very good. sometimes I can get very good picture quality and no freezing or hanging on some channels... but most of the time it seems like IPTV stalker or sportsdevil or mashup just won't connect.
