She twisted her initial statement all out of context. There's a difference between being independent and asking for a favor. Independent means she can feed, clothe and shelter herself. Damn right my bitch better be able to do ALL of that! Asking for help or favors is NOT gender specific. PEOPLE can ask for help. PEOPLE can do each other favors. An alternative is to make bread or live overseas like a king and your bish happy with a $4 dress. It's the way it's supposed to be before the govt gave women protection via child support, shelters, welfare, etc. You used to be able to buy a house on your own, now you need a woman to help with the payments. All by design for more spending by giving two people access to money and driving up inflation. Before that, women knew they had to be feminine and submissive. Now they want it both ways. Not happening.

Yessir been there done that, I talk about bills when a chick start asking me for money. Be like man I got to pay my mortgage, car note etc etc and it gives her a headache hearing it. So then they leave me alone….but never have I heard a woman say let me know I’ll give you this amount.
Side note my Ex had a $2000 dollar a month rent. Since she work for the company they gave her $800 off. Me being her man I put up another $600, all she had to do is pay $600 a month..$150 a week $21 dollars a day.
Shorty was evicted in the third month and ended up to this day owing $18k. She getting her check garnished cause she broke her lease.

There's nothing a woman can do for me that I can't do for myself other than sex. What I mean by that is, I left home knowing how to cook, clean, do laundry, run a household. Mom wanted to make sure I didn't have to depend on a woman.

We knew back then nobody is completely independent in the manner they projected but we learned to live with it.
Now in hindsight women realize all the damage that talk has brought. Now when a men says he likes an independent woman its a red flag for her because she realizes the hole thats been dug by that ideology. When most men are just trying to respect a woman's ability to take care of self.
Now they want to have it both ways.
