Same here, the abuse was an ongoing problem. All this shit didn't happen from one punch, "child was found to have suffered bruising to both eyes, a cut to his lip, and a laceration to his sternum. He had three healing cuts to his back. His caretakers reported he’d fallen down the stairs, but police did not believe the injuries were consistent with an incident like that. An autopsy revealed he suffered blunt force trauma to the abdomen." His death was ruled a homicide.
The cake was probably the trigger. I'm pretty sure it was many things that led up to that moment.
Based on the article, sounds like the young boy was physically abused before.
Plus the article say that everyone was eating the cake but him. He got 5 kids.

You're right Bruh, we ain't bending over backward to defend Milwaukee and any fuckery aimed at the Black population, but Milwaukee didn't become "Killwaukee" until the migrations from Gary and Chicago. That's when shit began to ramp up.

This was many years ago in the nineties, so I’m sure it’s changed but the segregation was significant. I felt that is was a cultural wasteland and black folks were actively kept at the bottom of the social hierarchy. This was when all that “welfare reform” bullshit was going on and I had extensive conversations with people - black and white - who were fully in favor of removing the social safety net from poor black people and letting them die. Shit was disgusting and left a bad taste in my mouth about the whole city.

The cake was a celebration for being a good father...it's safe to assume he should have never been praised in any way when it comes to fatherhood.
