It's too late to take what they did on Family Guy serious. If you want it to be serious for future generations, go after the people who make the word nigga, ******, etc... acceptable today, ourselves (or if you're older and wiser, people who act like you did when coming up) hip hop artist, comedians looking for a laugh, etc... I'm guilty of using the word in all types of conversation without regard for its true meaning or origin, as I'm sure most of you are too.
Judging from the fact that the word "nigga" in my second sentence isn't censored, whereas the correct spelling of the word made popular during slavery
is censored shows that even the people responsible for creating/modifying BGOL are guilty of using the word without regard for what it really means. If the word
nigg <--> er is going to be censored then so should the word nigga, they ultimately mean the same thing.
