*Face Off: Jean Pascal Vs. Bernard Hopkins II*

Man why are these dudes in boxing trying so hard to hit the weights??? Jeff Lacy made that mistake and now he is hardly in the spotlight (and this is before the incident with his brother)...Just work on your boxing skills (especially defense) and they could do well...

If he could go down in weight class to the super middleweight division, then it would be stacked...A Pascal vs. Bute fight in Canada would be monumental for the country and boxing in general. But if that fight can't happen, there are others in the horizon...even at light heavyweight (Pascal vs. Cloud, anyone?) a few matches can be made...

word good point....Lacy after he tore his rotator cuff he was done....and I guess he thought lifting heavy will help with that type of injury...dude was finished :itsawrap:...

btw I don't know how true this is but I heard an injury like that for a boxer is damn near career ending...

but yeah bruh this cat Pascal was way too bulky while Hopkins was nice and lean....cat is always gassing he needs to chill....thats why his camp is trash IMO :smh::angry:

how you come into the fight with the same gameplan and almost more muscular than the last fight and expect to beat a crafty Hopkins....:hmm:

I don't know about the rotator cuff injury being the decider of one's career in boxing, but it sure messed up Jeff's career though...

Pascal had nothing new against Hopkins, and pretty much got blown out. If it wasn't for a couple good punches in some spurts then it would have been a flat out embarrassment and Pascal would be begging for anyone to give him a shot once again...

You're right on point with the fact that if Pascal is to become more successful in the future, then his camp has to be trashed...No adjustments at all in this fight, and having his guard down consistently made it easy for Hopkins to land those right hands...

Yep. Naseem Richardson discussed this post-fight....how the biggest problem can sometimes being the camp letting his fighter that he fought well..thus they dont change anything. Pascal got his ass kicked in that first fight...the knockdowns just saved him on the cards.

And without those punches he wouldn't have "slipped" Dave so.....

:D
To me, a knockdown should be when a fighter loses his footing off a punch not a light punch and a slick canvas.
Still, the slick canvas wouldn't have been as much a problem for him if he had better footwork and balance.

I agree dude needs to lay off the wieghts...dude came into the fight looking like a damn linebacker than a boxer that may go the distance again....

his boxing needs work and his footwork....again a strong beginning and fell apart towards the middle AGAIN...:smh:

one reason I fucks with Pascal is because dude is one of the fearless boxers today...dude went to England to fight undefeated Froch on his turf and if I'm not mistaken was Fight Of The Year....did not dodge Hopkins and was down for an immediate rematch after the world believed he lost....broke his arm against Diaconu and still won the fight....

great chin not scared to mix it up....he needs better boxing skills...poor mans RJJ he is...he can't be RJJ w/o RJJ speed and footwork...needs to change his trainers...lay off the weights....

he'll be back....he is an exciting fighter...he pushed B-Hop to fight...alot potential exciting fights with him....hopefully homie improves....

Agreed. Plus he has a huge Montreal fanbase and it always looks good on tv to fight in front of an arena full of rabid fans.

Or if he hadn't gotten punched in the head.
