all I know is there supposedly is a huge underground base there and many military personnel have been seen "disappearing" in the airport and they also have some type of concentration camp mural on the wall.

These 'Gods' you're referring to are beings mascaraing as omnipotent and powerful. They were simply exploiting the ancients lack of knowledge. It is not all that different than our current society arriving at an island and encountering people who know nothing of the rest of the world.
Our technology, manner of dress, and much more would be viewed as divine and magical.
It's wrong to assume that these beings were anything of what they proclaimed to be.
And socrotize is right about the fact when highly advanced cultures come across less advanced cultures. By just simply viewing our history you see that the less advanced society is always destroyed.

i have often felt the same way. all of the gods ever mentioned have human characteristics and its so easy to say we anthropomorphized those characteristics on the gods but even the ones of old who are recorded to walk with mankind display human like emotions and characteristics.
