She is who I thought she was, & they better not let her off the hook for those comments......

:dunno: How she think she got her job? Who the fuck wants to see any woman talk about sports? All them hoes were hired to stand there and look pretty.
Affirmative action, yes, but she still knows more sports than you or me.
You know who else I think it’s a little bit like this white woman that white woman that plays undisputed with Shannon Sharpe
I will go on record and say she is worse because she said something during the segment that Uncle Shay Shay had to realign and reroute her on.
Well well fucking well
Intersectionality doesn't exist in white people

She called her a diversity
While saying oh I Know from the woman side of it

Like women are white and Maria is black not woman

Who didn't see that coming?

Nobody plays nice nobody accepts black women doing their thing

Glad I never watch shit Rachel is on

Then tears coming

And someone is a hoe for recording the conversation and passing it around ESPN
Yeah, that whole once you are Black you are nothing else always goes to show you that they will never see you as equal to them.
And it will be about as genuine as a $7 bill.

All of them have been on that sexism is worse than racism/Black men support the patriarchy bullshit over the past few years.
Remember, Black women and Latinas alone voted out Trump despite more Black men voting for Biden than Latinas. :smh:

Jemele ain’t lying though.

Bitter pills are hard to swallow.

Kevin Samuels popularity is a manifestation of just this thing.
Man, they got those Black coons out in full force & I liked Amin Elhassan, too.

A former ESPN NBA analyst has taken to Twitter to share his thoughts on Rachel Nichols following the New York Times’ bombshell story on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, the New York Times reported on the growing controversy at ESPN regarding Nichols and fellow host Maria Taylor. A leaked audio recording from 2020 reveals that Nichols questioned Taylor’s promotion to NBA Finals hosting duty.

“I wish Maria Taylor all the success in the world — she covers football, she covers basketball,” Nichols reportedly said in July 2020. “If you need to give her more things to do because you are feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity — which, by the way, I know personally from the female side of it — like, go for it. Just find it somewhere else. You are not going to find it from me or taking my thing away.”

Nichols’ comments reportedly made their way to Taylor, who has since refused to work on the air with her colleague.

Many in the sports media world have taken to social media to weigh in on the story. Among them: former ESPN NBA analyst Amin Elhassan.

“I wouldnt have been on The Jump if it werent for Rachel Nichols & I know the same is true for T-Mac (Tracy McGrady) & Stak (Stephen Jackson). When they tried to get funnystyle w/ my contract, she stood up for me & made sure I was treated right. She’s been an ally (not just to me) in public & behind closed doors,” he tweeted.

“Pls note this isnt a dismissal of Maria or her feelings. She’s great & deserving of everything she accomplished in her career..but the convo that needs to occur is why is there a Highlander ‘There Can Only Be One’ mentality when it comes to women & high profile positions at ESPN.”

Elhassan, a former NBA front office employee turned sports media personality, is no longer at ESPN. He currently works for Dan Le Batard’s new company, Meadowlark.

The former ESPN NBA analyst said he plans on further discussing the article on Tuesday’s show.

It’s an easy support because both parties believe they are not losing the job out to the other person.
Affirmative action is a sick and twisted game creating frienemies all along the way.

And this who I was waitin’ on. Stak and her suppose to be tight.

I feel where he is coming from, but if you are going to be friends with a white woman you need to be prepared for this behavior.

Rachel said what she said. She did not lie about what she said. She was honest. That’s what we ask.

The bigger story is LBJ’s consultant complicit ness with the statement. He is going to have to manage this.

I haven't listened to him as much lately. He always struck me as a "don't upset the bag" type guy. Like he'll comment but only within reason.
i like Bomani and he get as close to line as he can while not stepping over it....if you ever hear how he talks about the differences between him and his dad..it makes sense

Great point!

When even his dad who is certified

Says Bo is too hard on Lebron, he understands jim brown and the game overall has different rules now?

That says a whole lot.

Yes I remember that but his circle got a slightly bigger than what it needs to be right now

But cuz... it HAS too.

There still not young black gatekeepers in the arenas he wants to branch out to.

You see how they STILL do Maverick.

You gonna deal with the devil some how some way.

I think its all a bit of overreaction. I kinda agree with Stak. ESPN took part of her assignment and decided to slide it over to Maria Taylor, so yeah Nichols had every right to be upset. I'm sure ESPN holds the right to reassign employees as needed. So it would make sense , if they decided to have a person of color upfront during the finals to articulate some of what was going on. Nichols made the mistake of assuming it was for diversity reasons. She was ranting on in frustration like Stak said.

ESPN is in a pickle now. No way they can try to discipline Nichols, without someone bringing up Jalen Rose comment about Love being a token white boy for the Olympic team. Nothing happened to him for that as for as I know. I also find it suspicious that all this drops during Maria Taylors contract negotiations. Shit happened a year ago and its just now coming to light?

Maria is talented and a beautiful sister, but her and Taylor Rooks be on some our shit don't smell vibe sometimes. ESPN reportedly offered her 5 million per year, which was up from the 1 million she was getting paid. But she turned it down because she wanted something close to Stephen A. Smith money? Like him or hate him, she nowhere near as valuable to them as SAS is. I guarantee no one else is offering her anything close to that.

If anything, this drives her price up. Furthermore, she's been going through about the last few years...with Nick Saban snapping at her live on air and she keeping it professional (Saban is a cantankerous old fart so i think he would have done that to anybody, but it went viral) then Doug Gottlieb saying that BS he did about her not being deserving of being where she is and now Rachel Nichols (her own colleague) making it seem like shes not deserving..i agree about her not getting stephen a money and if thats what she's asking for, then they will be parting ways very soon...under than fox, i dont think there's anyone else out there thats going to pay her what she's asking for...shes definitely not going to barstool
