Eric Dyson and Ice Cube Confronts Bill Maher

LOL, wasn't Cube a founding member of a group called Niggaz Wit Attitudes which totally embraced the word?

Maher was wrong for sayin' the shit but spare me all the fake outrage.

I do think others have said far worse and the outcry wasn't this bad so I'm confused on that but what does Cube being in NWA have to do with the topic at hand? HE could've been in a group called Niggas, Niggas, Niggas and the point still would remain.

"It's our word now", is just fucking dumb. What kind of people are we the we WANT to denigrate each other with language.

Thank you sir. I remember getting attacked on here when i said the "Boondocks" constant use of that word was validating it among white people. That word needs to be buried

I don't understand this fascination of siding with Maher, because white folks are the first ones to call the Homeowner Association,if we don't have our lawn in a certain way or call the cops if we have people for a barbecue.Somehow,a so called liberal that's suppose to be down for black people said the n-word folks want to cape for him.

Folks here can make threads shitting on Kobe,Lebron,Jordan and etc,but will defend this piece of shit like they owe him something.

:smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

You trying to stir up the good nigras?

And most of you ignored the reason Dyson and Ice Cube cane on the show because Bill Maher does 100x more fighting injustices then most people despite his mistake.

But you all keep thinking Bill Maher is just like....

30+ pages on Bill Maher saying house N but most of you don't say shit on issues fucking over your life. Pathetic

Classic Trump supporter line...Hillary blah blah blah

No one gives a shit about Hillary. It was never about Hillary, it was ALWAYS about letting the republicans controlling everything and the destruction following.

How's that working out mr independent. Dumb fuck

Surely you mr independent would be speaking out against Jeff Sessions if you are so upset over Bill Maher....let's search.

Nothing...how strange

Surely you have spoken out against republicans trying to rob millions of people of overtime pay.
http://money.cnn.com/2017/05/02/news/economy/overtime-pay-bill-passes-house/index.html

The White House is systematically dismantling former President Barack Obama's legacy on labor and employment regulations, reversing course on changes Obama made to overtime law, business liability, federal contract bidding and worker exposure to harmful circumstances, among other policies.

The latest move came late Thursday when the Labor Department announced it would start the process of rescinding the "persuader rule," which forced labor lawyers to publicly divulge whenever they were hired by businesses. Previously the contracts only had to be divulged when lawyers spoke directly with workers. The rule, which unions applauded, was widely expected to cause many lawyers to stop the consulting altogether. A Texas court in April declared the rule unconstitutional.

Nope...nothing

Surely you are outraged over the republicans attempting to take healthcare from the poorest of people so the rich get more tax breaks.

Nope.

I'll start hating Bill when I can listen to a rap song and not hear Nigga at all. Or when I can talk to a young black man without him spewing it out every second word. These Rap fuckers turning yall into fags and idiots....smh......Yeah I said it.

I agree with you 100%
Yes only rich rappers like JayZ and Kanye can use that word ****** -"Ni66ers In Paris"
All this self-righteous "we-own-that-word" Black pride???:( bull shit.

Black Pride......Okay......how about actually $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ owning an industry in America , the way the Koreans control the Black hair care industry.
Black women buying all that hair fake and real for braids and weaves and the wigs, and all that other stuff they selling in those stores, $$$$$$$$$ Billions of dollars and there is not even a Black person working in the fucking stores.

I'm at The Mall at Short Hills | NJ and a Yukon Denali is slowly driving past the exit, we heard the car 3 minutes before we actually saw it. The ground shook with bass, inside were three young black men, windows down, 120 decibels rap music blaring "fuck that nigga, fuck that nigga, fuck that nigga....."
Everybody, mostly affluent white people who have little contact with black people were standing there mouths agape holding their ears. I stood there, a Black man with three Black teenagers wanting to kick their asses, if I got the chance; what idiots. Yeah, Black people have the exclusive right to use the word nigga. Maher who gave Obama $1,000,000 for his election says it and he should lose his television show. Give me a fucking break.

Respect :yes::yes::yes:

And Bill's an idiot trying to shut down the message Cube was trying to give. Bill isn't sorry at all.

Maher should have just taken the L said he learned from it and kept moving instead of trying to whitesplain it

Cube went real soft but he doesn't understand liberalism at all. He checked mayer somewhat but it's gonna happen again and again.

He undrestand Capitalism tho. Better than most.

Fuck cube, nukka aint say shit about the pig shootings. Hollyweird got a hold of his ass. Fake militant

When I think of Ice Cube in 2017

Has he spoken on anything in the past 20 years while he went Hollywood

I like the fact that Maher had all of them on, and let them speak their peace. They were talking about it being a teachable moment, and Bill let them teach. It was a message to Bill himself, and to the rest of the world.

Thank you sir. I remember getting attacked on here when i said the "Boondocks" constant use of that word was validating it among white people. That word needs to be buried

This debate has been going on for how many years now, 40, 60? It's nothing new. And I understand those of us who want us never to use it internally either. I don't feel the same way though. If for no other reason, I love the fact that CACs can't stand being told they can't do something but someone else can. They hate the fact that they can't say nigga but someone else can. White people expect inequalities to work in their favor only. Whenever I hear a CAC making that argument that if they can't use the word then nobody should be able to, I always ask them why it's so important for them to be able to say nigga to a black man?

Lol I like how y'all can pretend to yourselves that Cube actually did something cool just by being stern with the white guy in the for a few minutes. The founder of the group Niggas With Attutudes is our spokesman. Awesome.

Wanted to give props. I'm on @Drayonis side and thing ****** in all of its' forms shouldn't be used like it is. Yet, regardless of how I feel, I respect when someone else has a thoughtful understanding of why they like or are ok with the words use. I like reading what you wrote @bwb.

We like petty moral victory...mofos clap because he stood up to "THE MAN".

from my opinion there is nothing to champion about this, nothing at all.
just another stupid rapper babbling.

Rappers and Athletes..:smh:

Always seems to END with a conversation. Then another one acts up, then a new conversation begins.

I know racism is a never ending battle, but I think we need to accept the fact that millions of NonBlacks in America (White, Mexican Asian etc) never have and never will like us. Then when they fuck up, it wont be so hard for us to handle the situation accordingly.

You kept hearing Cube say, "I like your show", "Your my friend". When you start showing compassion toward mofos who mainly give u a TEMP pass because youre "not like the rest of them", you put yourself in a bad situation. You become a servant, to a degree. Cube may consider Bill a friend, but imho, Bill looks at Cube, Eric etc as people who could come on his show and calm the storm.

We dont need to give White folks a History lesson about this and that. Most of them already know what the deal is. They just like to play stupid so they can have something to fall back on once they show their cards.

We need to make sure that our people understand what type of country that we're living in. Its not about being paranoid, just stay prepared. Cause racism aint ending anytime soon.

No accepted apologies ever. Black folks will have coffers at the ready for accepted apologies from white folks but will carry grudges for the most insignificant of petty slights from immediate family members to the grave.

I respectfully disagree with this point. We do need to keep knowledge of history armed and ready, specifically because white folks have been trying to rewrite and reframe history. The younger generation is falling victim to a misinformation campaign that is affecting their mindset. Never underestimate the power of ignorance.

Let me give you and example: I entered a conversation at work with a CAC, who I heard talking about how the confederate flag was a signal of pride for southerners, and not a racist thing. I said it seems like he is trying to redefine a flag that is a known symbol for a people who had decided that they would rather leave the united states and start their own country so they could keep black people as slaves to provide them free labor. His eyes lit up, because he was ready for that argument. He said, did you know that most of the people who were soldiers in the confederate army weren't slave owners. They werent fighting for slavery, they were just fighting for the south, to keep their land and families safe. I said 'oh really, so they probably werent even in favor of slavery and racism then, they were just defending their own'? He was like yeah exactly. He was so pleased, because he thought he had dropped part of his one-two combo. Then, he said some blacks were slave owners, and some were in africa selling blacks into slavery, so it's not like slavery is only the fault of the south. Bamn... the second part of his combo. The south will rise again is just about southern pride, about family and about not being ashamed of living in the south.

I asked him where were these non racist non slave owners when the northern armies left the south, and whites started terrorizing blacks, lynching blacks, burning them out of house and home? If those southern whites were not about racism, why was there no one defending their newly freed southern brothers when southern whites were attacking them? You realize that after the slavery was ended in 1865 all of the slaves still weren't free, and it took two more amendments in 1868 and 1870 to give them citizenship and the right to vote. Imagine that, you need a law to make you a citizen, and but you really arent a citizen if you are an adult but can't vote simply because of your race. So they need yet another law to give blacks the right to vote. And once blacks had the right to vote, there were 14 black congressmen, and 2 black senators from the south. Southern whites hated this, they hated losing money and power, and the Klan formed and widespread lynching started. Southern governments started making laws specifically to suppress blacks. Where was the non racist non slave owning south then? When they were passing laws against blacks (blacks who didn't want to sign a long term agreement with their former owner to work the land and give them a piece of their crops or profits) so they could be arrested and forced to work for their former owners , where was the non racist south? It took until the civil rights act of 1960 to take some of the obviously racist laws off the books in the south. 100 years after the civil war, these people in the south, and all southern governments were still holding on to racism so hard that it took a huge movement to force them to change. 100 years later the people who wanted equality were hung, firehosed, beaten, attacked by dogs, all because they were speaking out about freedom from racism. They didn't think that it should be a law that a black has to give up a seat on a bus for a white person to sit down, so they were beaten. How is that not about racism? So how can anyone argue that the south wasn't about racism? All of the evidence, all of the action points to the south being an institutional and complete supporter of racism. That's not even really debatable. So how can you realistically think all of that can be wiped away by you saying the flag doesnt represent what history shows that it did? He was holding on what he wanted to be true, not what was actually true. Sometimes a history lesson is a good thing. If you know what happened you won't let someone make up lies about what happened.

They trot out a black person soon as they fuck up. Cube let him know. Don't interrupt or whitesplain, you fucked up.
