Ellerbe: After Floyd KO's Pacquiao, 'Marquez 4' Still There

Leonard Ellerbe, adviser to WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., doesn't see a reason for Manny Pacquiao to stage an immediate fourth fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. Last Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Pacquaio won a controversial twelve round majority decision over Marquez. Mayweather plans to fight on May 5 at the MGM Grand, and negotiations for a Pacquiao fight were set to begin, but now the Filipino superstar and his promotional team, Top Rank, are going to pursue a fourth clash with Marquez instead.

Ellerbe expects Pacquaio to force a clash with Mayweather, and then pursue a fourth clash with Marquez in the future.

“I think Manny Pacquiao is going to step up and say, 'I want to fight Floyd Mayweather,' ” Ellerbe said to the Grand Rapids Press. “He is an honorable guy, his country admires him, and I think he'll step up. Otherwise, he'll disappoint his own fans, and I don't think he'll do that. They could make [the Marquez] fight anytime. When Floyd knocks out Manny Pacquiao, that fight will still be there. They can still make that fight after the chapter on Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is closed.”

so which fight should he go after. He was disappointed with the fight and wants to clear it up. The PBF thing is a big joke. If PBF really wanted the fight PEDS would have never come up. I seriously don't think Manny gives a damn wether he fights PBF. Neither of them need each other to make money. Manny has more meaningful fights. Both guys should just move on from all te fight talk.

I was just talking to my brother about this, and he referenced Floyd giving Castillo an immediate rematch after a controversial win... My response, Manny has had 3... so maybe it's time to face Floyd and maybe fight Marquez as a retirement fight...

Fam, I've ridden the Pac ride for a long time, but at this point, it's really time to let it go. Dude is clearly not in PBF class... If Marquez gives Manny the types of fits he does, and Floyd out Marquez'ed Marquez, it's really difficult to imagine that fight ending well for Manny...

And, the saying styles make fights don't really apply in this case... It would be embarrassing...

So, no, if anything, they both need each other equally, however, Floyd doesn't have even any CLOSE wins since the Castillo fight... where as, Manny is pretty damaged goods at this point...

He didn't want to clear shit up after the second fight and you have argued on here many times that he shouldn't have to clear it up, but you've also said Manny had evolved...

If Pac wanted a fight he would never requested 10 million for every lbs overage and then if he wanted the fight he would have ran away from the drug testing issue that he now claims that he agrees to.

Manny only has Marquez besides Floyd and short of a robbery both will end with the same result.

As far as the stories I post... I'm actually posting about these niggas when shit is developing I don't create threads when nothing is happen just to find new angles to shit on one motherfucker. Also I've posted mainly about Marquez and Pac if you didn't notice the other thread that you commented in.

I agree Manny loses to PBF. I never said different. I disagree that Manny needs PBF on his resume. And the reason PBF hasn't had a close fight is because he has always been the favorite in all his fights.
