Elijah Muhammad interview

Peace,

And if he wasn't a hypocrite Malcolm would still be alive...

That’s one way to look at it. Another is that Malcolm X would have lived and died an animalistic existence as Malcolm Little and we would never have heard of him.

Peace,

I prefer to acknowledge the fact that, without Elijah Muhammad, there would have been no Malcolm X.
Soooooo you can dismiss / over look him being a pedo perv who fucked a bunch of girls in the nation of islam, got them pregnant / sexually molested /sexually assaulted, shamed them, & basically exiled them BECAUSE................................... he HELPED Malcom X become who & what he was? Even when Malcom couldnt over look it?

So depending on what a pedoplie does excuses his pedophilia???? Based on your statement, Yes?

Him helping Malcolm could have still happened without him being a hypocrite....

Didn’t say any of that. Didn’t talk about overlooking anything at all. What I said was I prefer to view him as the person who introduced the world to Malcolm X.

But it didn’t. So instead of focusing on his considerable shortcomings, I prefer to focus on his contribution to the creation of one of our greatest thinkers and freedom fighters.

Edit: And I get that it’s difficult for many of us to acknowledge and accept the moral complexity. Many of us prefer to box people in. But no honest review of Elijah Muhammad’s life would be complete without including the fact that he gave us Malcolm X.

His hypocrisy led to Malcolm leaving the NOI and ultimately being killed. Joe Paterno will be remembered for the Sandusky incident, Cosby will be remembered by the scandal. It is what it is. Can't tell Elijah's story without his hypocrisy.

Agreed. Can’t tell the good without the bad. Can’t tell the bad without the good.

I always wondered about his accent. Why did he speak with such a weird accent? I know he was a brother Elijah Poole from Detroit, thus I found it a bit odd.
