Why is Tesla the only viable option?
There are numerous competitors now;
Polestar, Rivian, Lucid.....etc

The power grid is the biggest hindrance.....that's Trillions of dollars that the politicians will never agree to spend
You hit it on the nail...

Tesla has their shit together when it comes to an eco system.

You can't really charge any other EV anywhere

Ford is the only one that will become viable soon

I charge this at home in a little over 5hrs if I'm around 15%

DC fast charging is around 80 minutes

IMO..I don't know why anyone would attempt to compare / race for that matter, an electric "instant on" motor powered vehicle against a combustion engine powered vehicle. It will never be a fair match-up in the same class due to the science of how they both produce energy that is converted to torque. You would have to substantially over compensate the combustion engine to make it fair... That all said, folks up state going through this cold snap are finding out how the physics of a lithium battery and adversely cold temperatures don't bode well for EV's. ;)
