Good question but I noticed that shit is only marketed towards black people. That should tell you something.
chuck d called it 'liquid crack' and he ain't far from wrong. it has a higher alcohol content then regular beer. PLUS it's generally pushed in 40 ounce bottles, which most young brothers buy cause it's cheap and easy to get u fuked up. its marketed toward black males for that very reason

The low cost and fast rate of the alcohols effect appeals to poorer people who want a quick way to temporarily escape their sorrows.
Menthol cigarettes are also marketed toward blacks in the US. I have traveled to countries where the cigarette machine had 20 different types of cigarettes and only 1 choice for menthol.(No Newports either)
What you have to realize is that just because you experience another race or culture partaking in certain behavior does not mean that the whole race or culture does the same thing.

Who does the bar cater to? Who actually purchases the 40s? Regardless of the color of it's inhabitants, is it a lower-income area?
The topic of who ends up drinking the 40s is not as germane as the topic of who it's marketed to. Whites and Blacks interact, so it's not uncommon for drinking habits to cross racial lines. Fact is, malt liquor is not marketed as a whole to anyone above the middle-income bracket. I was speaking in percentages, and probably should have said so. I assumed it was obvious, so my bad there. In America, we just have to look at where Blacks and other minorities fall in the bigger picture of income brackets. Lower-income Whites fall victim to most of the same issues that plague lower-income Blacks. The key here is to factor in where Blacks and non-Blacks fall monetarily in regards to the aforementioned income bracket. There will always be an exception to every pattern, but overall, I believe that my comments on Malt Liquor are correct.
It'd be interesting to see who actually goes in the 'White" bar and purchases the 40s. They're cheaper, and you actually get more beverage. (discount beer? A marketing dream...)
No Black or minority person would buy a product that said 'For Negroes Only', so the marketing process has to be more insidious.

yes i have had cisco before when you are 18/19 years old in college you will drink whatever you can get your hands. They had pulled the shit off the market for a while because of the reputation of being liquid crack then they reformulated it and brought it back.
