I really dont get down with Ebony though to watered down for a black magazine......

Why is Living Single #3?

Martin and Family Matters should be higher on this list. I thought ROC was a good show also! Living Single was not a TOP 3 show! No way it was better than Martin, Family Matters, Fresh Prince, or Sanford and Son

Where is the chappelle show? It had the largest ratings in the history of cable tv and Chappelle was paid 50 million. Everyone in America was quoting lines at home, school, and work, and there were even t-shirts with the quotes on them. Honestly, Chappelle show should be in the top 5 or top 10. I laughed more in one episode of Chappelle show than I did watching most of these comedies combined. Different world, living single, and soul food are way to high. BET did a top 25 tv show countdown a couple years ago and they had Chappelle show as #11.

Different World #2? that says it all right there. No need to go any further.

Guess they never heard of Julia...

That list reads like it was made by some dumbass youngster over at Ebony. How the hell did they rank Martin and Girlfriends over Roc?!?! :hmm:

They also missed several pioneering shows:

1) Julia starring Dianne Carrol. The first tv show starring a black woman in a professional role.

2) Frank's Place starring Tim Reid. One of the best but shortest lived black comedies ever.

3) Since they're showing shows with mixed races (Different Strokes) why isn't Miami Vice on here? 2 black stars, a hispanic, and a show that set trends for the entire decade.

Lets also include Spencer for Hire in this. Would anyone deny that Hawk (Avery Brooks) was the star of this show?

4) I-Spy with Bill Cosby. Before Miami Vice, this was the show putting a black man and white man together wherein the brother wasn't a punk or a servant.

5) The Nat King Cole Show. Yea, this ground breaking brother had a variety show back in the late 50s. The show featured some of the biggest black performers of that time but white advertisers were afraid that they couldn't successfully sell their products on the show.

This article was supposed to be about the Top 25 (Black) shows of all time and it looks like the authors time started in the 80's. The lack of a sense of history in our community is very disturbing... :smh:

Good list ..... And Franks Place was critically acclaimed in its short run......Your last paragraph is kind of the feeling that I get about the writers at Ebony......

This is another list that is accomplishing what it's set out to do: get people talking about why such and such show is ranked higher than others, why this show is on the list and this other one isn't. Don't put too much stock in lists.

Ebony = BET Magazine

I dont know alot of blk ppl that would have Greys Anatomy on there list and not Seinfeld and/or Married With Children

I dont care if its not black we love them 2 shows

Ebony has been out of touch with black people for 20 years. The magazine is far too conservative. How the hell can Good Times be one of the top 25 shows of all time?:smh: Not with shows like Roc, Julia and Frank's Place not making the list. :smh:

WTF ???

Living Single is 3 and Sanford and Son is 7 ??? I am the only one that has a problem with this ?

My top 10 Sitcoms
