Eagles release Desean Jackson

This is a much more feesable explination. E you yourself know from your buisness ventures a team must click. Kelly is new and he has to show that he is that dude running that team. It makes a statement and a shows a new regime is in and the bullshit wont be tolerated no matter how good you are, or how good you think you are. The fact the eagles are going to have to eat 6 million over this shows they are ready to move forward with Chip and the Reid era is truly over.

This is what I think it is. It's just dirty they are killing his character in the process. But that is how Kelly is covering his ass. Management, media, and the fans will give him a pass because he's "Cleaning up the team". It's really a no-lose situation (beyond the massive lose of talent). It blows up on his if his offense stagnates though...but he's banking on being able to just plug someone else in.

It's draconian. Essentially Jackson is being used as the example. He is being sacrificed in order for Kelly to impliment his master plan. His teammates loved him and he was never really a "real" problem so cutting his was apparently (from what we all know) a very harsh decision.

Like you said. Kelly is saying that the Reid era is officially over.

No surprise Jason Whitlock is cosigning this completely.
And has compared him directly to Aaron Hernandez.
love it

LOL "riley cooper made a mistake he owned up to it its completely different it was away from the team"

really???

what did jackson do to the team?

ccon train is never late :smh:

you be the judge

I just want someone who knows one gang sign from another to CONFIRM that the hand gesture he is making is actually a gang sign. If it is, it is, but I don't accept allegations like that at face value. Anyone here that has been exposed to Ladera Heights gangsters and white suburban wiggers knows what I mean. In some circles the practice is known as "perpetrating".

So is the real issue him being released, or the gang stuff?!?! If it's the gang stuff I understand it, because that shit has nothing to do with the on field stuff, and, if he is gang affiliated, just release him and keep it moving, not slander his name... Also, were the comments about gangs directly attributed to the Eagles organization, or was it one of those sources close to the team things?

Now if it's about him being released, it happens all the time. This is a deep draft for receivers. If he was a problem in the locker room, missing meetings, etc., then by all rights they had the right to cut him. Hell, if he didn't do all those things, any NFL team has a right to cut any player, that's why the contracts aren't guaranteed.

As productive as he was, was he 10 million dollars worth of productive? Hell, Wes Welker was cut by the Patriots and he was very much more productive for them than Jackson was for the Eagles...

Just saying, if the context is the slander, I'm all for bitching about it, but if its about releasing the player for business reasons, it is what it is....

And, the fact that 4 plus teams have contacted him really means nothing... He is a talent and he is young so they had to know he was gonna get picked up...

Not sure they really give a fuck... :hmm:

LOL "riley cooper made a mistake he owned up to it its completely different it was away from the team"

really???

We all know the Eagles biggest issue with DeSean is his high Melanin levels....

A racist CAC isn't detrimental to the team, he poses no threat. But a cocky negro that doesn't know his place is a major distraction...

Whitlock is basically saying you can keep your job if you shuck and jive for Whitey like he does...

truthfully if he's perpetrating then that shows his immaturity..no grown man who is a millionaire should be emulating gang culture especially on their job.

I'm not saying he deserved how he got cut but too many young cats make poor decisions not realizing theyre being watched ALL THE TIME. Particularly when your damn good at something..:smh:

A gang is for life technically

But he is perpetuating, because he isn't active...at least he shouldn't be

But he does hang around questionable people. For example Meek fresh off a felony bid.

Sacrifice is a harsh word, but I agree he obviosly does'nt fit in Chips playbook. While I am not in anyway an Eagles fan, I can't disagree with the Kelly's decision or the management of the Eagles. At the end of the day the goal is to get a ring and apparently they dont feel they can do it with his ditractions. Sometimes as fans we forget about that playing pro sports is a job, and players are subject to putting the same amount of commitment to they're jobs as we are to ours. The team must not have felt the commitment was there from him due to his actions. Like you said new coach and cleaning up the team aspect makes for the perfect storm. It just goes to show, you need to stay on your P's and Q's all the time.

Harbaugh got rid of Ed Reed and Anquawn Bolden to "take over" the Ravens, didn't make the playoffs for the first time in his tenure and the owner gave him an extension.

That is the theme.

They have no concrete evidence of anything.

They have pictures of him and friends. he has not been involved in ANYTHING.

the eagles have issued a gag order because they do not want anyone commenting on the gang affiliation because they don't want to get sued for slander.

this is the huge part that espn is intentionally glossing over.
it's taken 3 hours, now the names are paired. jackson and hernandez they're linked now.

what a fucking disgrace this is.

I never said the Bruh was the picture of maturity. just saying that perpetrating is light years from banging.

But I hope my favorite team signs him.

disagree. he got rid of them because he didn't want to pay players he didn't think had anything left in the tank.
he was right about reed and wrong about boldin.

I don't think he was ever in a gang....

Did you watch the E60 video i posted ?

Looks like he picked some fukked up people to associate with when his pops passed.

nah, man... i didn't watch it.

i was at work, and i'm just getting caught-up on this whole story.

idk shit about DJ, on or off the field except dat nicca is fast as hell, and i'd love to have him on the saints on that turf in the dome.

One guy has a long history of violence and all the evidence points to him being a murderer.

One guy has no criminal history and no history of violence, and was heavily involved in community service.

However, they're being "correlated". How? The only thing similar between those two is that they both play football on the offensive side of the ball.

You forgot the other similarity........ the stupidity of the population.

Look at where we are in education in the world man.

Not even Rev Wright could have defended himself.

We are in the age of character assassinations i.e. kill your "image"

In a society where there is more emphasis on who you are perceived to be (image) rather than who you really are (self).

So the sheeple go along without thought of his actual behavior but rather his perceived present or future behavior.

and are auto thugs.

hernandez? yes. he has proven to be a goon he had several crazy ass incidents before he even got drafted.

jackson has been a model citizen.

actually better than a model citizen.

Shit is stupid as hell. Real fucked up they'd give that bullshit excuse for letting him go too. Then they wait till most teams are close to the cap to do this bullshit. If you were gonna let him go, why not do it at the beginning of free agency. I hope he stays in the division and burns the Eagles for the next 10 years!!!! :smh:

Now that you mention it, I do recall that Sal Palontonio reported that the Eagle's Attorneys "read them the riot act" and told the organization to shut the fuck up. Seems like someone sees it the way you do.

it ain't about avoiding. people grow up to become what they become.

i know some dudes that are heavy in the streets and some doing life in jail

but when we were 10-12 years old we were playing football and everything together and going to the math olympics and science competitions together.

people grow up and take different paths.

^^^ agreed, I should be fired at this exact moment for some of the cats I know from childhood

Those motherfuckers are slick Jack and you know it! They would hide behind the fact that they didn't directly say the shit, and didn't participate in the NJ.com article... bullshit like that! These motherfuckers waited as long as they did to make this move covering their asses...

The way DJax is gonna get back at these Dudes is to end up with a division rival and put foot in their ass twice a year... :smh:
