Dwyane Wade: I Definitely Had To Change My Game More Than LeBron

Dwyane Wade acknowledged he had to adjust his game more than LeBron James did during their time together with the Miami Heat.

Wade and James played together for four years before James returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"I definitely changed mine more," Wade said with a laugh after Thursday's practice. "It's not even a conversation. There's no conversation to have. I definitely had to change mine more."

Wade and James didn't have a conversation about how their respective games would change before they decided to join forces.

"We all knew the sacrifice that was going to be [made]," Wade said. "Obviously, you sit down and you talk about playing together. You think you know what's [going to happen], you try to cover things in that moment, but then once you start playing together you realize it's harder than what you thought. But we all knew we had to sacrifice. Chris Bosh, too. He's somebody who they don't talk about, he had to sacrifice a lot too. But at the end of the day, we sacrificed points, article hits, but what we gained was championships, friendships and brotherhoods that last a lifetime. So I'm sure if we could do it all over again we'd do it exactly the same way."

Peace,

To be fair, he won a championship without Lebron. He's a great player in his own right.

They won the championship in 2006. The previous for years they went to the playoffs three times, they lost in the first round three years and didn't make the playoffs one year.

Dwayne's definitely a great player, but realistically the Heat weren't a good team for fours years when Lebron got there.

He had a ring and was finals MVP. Was finals MVP before Kobe too.

Where was Lebron before Wade?

Lebron went to the Finals and lost to a great Spurs team before Wade. Can you name an NBA great from that Cavs team? How about from Wade's championship team?

I could be wrong but the year Lebron came to the Heat he was the MVP, his team had the best record in the league and his coach won coach of the year.

They lost in the second round that year.

Lebron is better than Wade. There's no argument about that. But Wade didn't have to change teams twice looking for superstars to win a ring. Wade got lucky with Shaq. Yeah, but he didnt have to go switching teams to play with superstars. And twice even :smh:.

Wade would have been a hall of famer with a ring and finals MVP with or without Lebron.

Did he "Chase" a championship or did three players all have a desire to build something and want to play together?

I'm not saying Dwayne wasn't a great player, I'm simply stating the previous four years the Heat were non-factors before Lebron got there.

Just like the Cavs, they were non-factors before Lebron got there. Kyrie's a great player, but he was a non-factor before Lebron got there.

A Champion and a Finals MVP maybe? :dunno:

In 2006...for four years the Heat weren't good until Lebron got there.

It exactly the other way around.

No Wade = no ring for Lebron ever.
No Kyrie = no ring for Lebron ever.

Lebron is no Michael, no Magic, no Shaq, no Tim Duncan.

You're right. He's better and dont mention them with him anymore. This thread bout Wade, but Bron still overshadows him. :itsawrap:

Where would Kyrie be without Lebron? Actually that's a foolish question, The Cavs would have three more #1 picks :roflmao:

I'm not a Lebron fanboy, it's just some aren't giving him the credit he deserves. It's always without this or that Lebron wouldn't have won. Never mentioning that without Lebron the team's lottery bound.

Mike, Shaq, Magic, Duncan all had stars/hof/superstars to play with. Lets not knock Bron cuzz he's front office was garbage. Hell KG should of left earlier and i wish AI would have dipped.

He still accomplished that in Miami without LeBron tho. He had already proven he could win without LeBron tho.... LeBron hadnt proven he could do the same without Wade until last season...

I agree with you. When I spoke about Wade, I was "Only" speaking about the four years before Lebron got there.

I know Wade was a champion and Finals MVP. I'm specifically speaking about the State of the Miami Heat franchise before Lebron got there and after he left.

The same can be said about the Cavs franchise with the exception of a championship.

Agreed

While you make a great point, it would be more valid I believe if LeBron just came himself, and with the exact same team led them to the finals. The improvement of that team that first year was not solely due to LeBron.. You had Bosh and a few role players who also contributed to their turnaround...

Jordan was a better scorer, but overall LeBron is better and will have the better and longer career

you must have been born after jordan retired. there is no other way you can tell me with a straight face that you believe that. That shit is crazy. I'm pretty sure this entire thread is just trolling. I gotta get the fuck away from this nonsense.

Im from North Carolina. Ive been following Jordans career longer than most on this board. The truth hurts. Hes the best 2 guard ever and one of the best to ever play. Unfortunately shoe sales and a small scope of NBA history is what makes people overrate him a bit.

Bosh had to change the most.

Wade had to change partially because his health didnt hold up. He was only healthy their first year together. It was all downhill from there.

Its funny because coming into it I thought James would change the most.

Yea in the end we saw who was/is the big dawg
