Dusty Rhodes knew he could talk some junk - “What Hard Times is”

Never got deep into wrestling and he was a little before my time (I honestly only saw him during the WWF polka dot run.)

But.........

To make it in a business that requires you to run around in a speedo when you're that out of shape and with a lisp means he must have been a beast.

I don’t know if I’d call him a beast but I know he was a shit talking fool

Watched him on Mid-South World Championship Wrestling..on Sat.
Afternoon.. right after Wide World of Sports..
Growing up in the 70s and 80s was the greatest.

Dude carried wrestling back in the day. Use to watch him on Florida Championship wrestling. He said in an interview he stole his swagger from a black family friend.

He got his style from this black wrestler named Thunderbolt Patterson!!...Dusty look up this man and bite his style!!...

Dusty was one of my favs wrestler when I was a kid!!

Dusty Rhodes was before my time, but I watched his episode on Beyond the Mat. He grew up poor, but he made it. He did say he took his style from Thunderbolt Patterson like The Rock used his Dad's gimmick.

But Dusty Rhodes was self-made and what put him over was a common man who had no shame crossing color lines and hanging out in the hood.

Dude was humble and approachable outside the ring and in public.

My favorite Dusty moment is when he went into the Hall, and saw Kristal Marshall's fine ass, and said he was gonna have some brown sugar tonight.
