Drowned in Houston because of the floods..in car

i keep a spring loaded center punch in each vehicle.

i put one in my daughter's car also.

in a situation like that, she should have rolled the windows down as soon as she saw it was too deep to drive thru.

if you happen to drive in a deep river or lake and water has already covered the windows, i think you'll want to let the water level inside the car to get close to the ceiling before you break the side window.

if you break it before the the cab fills up, you will have a serious pressure differential that can fuck you up!

i taught my ex and my daughter a lot of survival tactics years and years ago!

??? why not just roll down the window, or release the back door latch? Why even drive INTO a tunnel with all that water. Go in reverse. Doesn't make sense

I just watched the elapsed timer.... there was plenty of time for her to get out that vehicle. She first touched water @ 6:10:50.... 20 min later?

This is a case of people holding on to the security of their vehicle.... even to her detriment. She shoulda let that truck go. Get out, get safe, and pay the deductible.

Staying in the vehicle is recommended in a lightning storm, but if it is sinking...GET THE FUCK OUT. The car is fucked anyway, so it's not like you're going to drive it once the water recedes.

Ok this looks like suicide or stupidity to the maximum level. I was expecting the shit to just wash her away.
then reading she ignored a tow truck blocking the entrance?
she saw the water and drove right into the shit?
got a flash light and then stayed in the car until she died?

either way it go it don't make sense....

she tried to kill herself
or
stop fucking getting in the car and driving fucking drunk

Nope...The doors can be opened. Not easily, but they can. Also, actually "they say its easily to let your car drown and try to break the window". Im not with all of that. I'll be out of there before it even starts sinking lol.

That shit is chilling...

I always roll around with one of these. You just never know.

That look like some Andy Dufresne kind of shit. A rock hammer damn near worn down to the nub. I remember thinking it would take a man six hundred years to get out of a SUV in a flood with that thing. Ol' Godofwine did it in less than 10 minutes

And when you panic, you die.

i try to always have contingency plans ready to go in case of emergency situations!

i'd bet money that most people don't know that water pressure will keep you from opening a car door.

some people just don't understand that and don't know what to do. :smh:

"Andy Dufresne, who crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side."

Probably my all-time favorite movie, ever!

This is my asshole comment of the week. There are so many stupid people in the world, some gotta go.

I saw the light from what appears to be a flash light. Why didn't that person or persons climb out?

No reason for them to drown in that situation.
she wasnt getting away...those underpasses have strong suction pumps going when flooded. even if she got out, she had to fight the suction

Let window down and let water come inside the vehicle. Only after the water is almost up to your neck will the pressure on each side of door equalize to the extent the doors can be opened. DO NOT PANIC.

If windows won't let down because electricity has been shorted out due to water....break windows and see above.
