Dr. Umar Johnson Vs. the State of PA Board of Psychology

The people who participate have to pay their own money.

and if they can't make it, there is a no refund policy.

but you bad ass pro black mofokrs wanted to call Harvey a coon but those at risk kids he hooks up every year don't have to pay shit.
Oh so now time doesn't equate money on bgol all of a sudden?

It's not easy for many people to lead themselves without some proper on how to do so.

We know for a fact that people educating their children at home is becoming more and more distant, especially considering that some parents aren't able to get their self together.

It takes a certain mindset to do so on top of the various distractions and influences you have to navigate in today's time.

Even mental stability is becoming an even larger issue as depression within our community is something that I'm noticing more and more now of days.

So to lead yourself takes a various amount of factors and it's just isn't possible for a large group to do without some type of proper direction.

But even if we do show how they could lead themselves, we are not going to be satisfied in how they do it if we do not agree with certain philosophies.

But I say all that to say, I agree that people should lead themselves. But I accept that many people are not capable without guidance. And where is that guidance coming from?
A lack of perspective is part of what causes such a division among US in regard to Umar Johnson. Umar presents himself as "the only"... the only Black PhD to write a book on how Black boys get lost in the school system ... THE TOP expert on the school to prison pipeline, etc. To those who are younger or who have not read books or are not aware of other actual leadership in the community, what's he's saying sounds plausible. It makes it sound like he is the ONLY hope for Black people.

I have a bookcase of Black scholars who have written extensively and famously on every issue that Umar has spoken or written about. In college, when my funds were low, I stood in the Afrocentric bookstore and read each volume of Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu's series, "Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Black Boys". Those books deal specifically with the various ways how Black boys are jim crowed and in schools and lost in the system. I know activists personally in my city and have stood, marched and worked shoulder to shoulder with them.

YouTube is a deceiver. Most of the folks putting in real work do not have the time to be doing YouTube podcasts every other day. They are unsung. But they are out there making an impact upon our communities. We have TONS of Black scholars - many of whom are not trying to separate you from your money with no results produced from your investment.

Umar has a message to deliver - a good one, but he is not the only one saying the things that he's saying. And he's not the originator of many of those things, merely a current and very effective messenger.

When people question the specifics of this proposed school, when they ask where specifically the money is going, what his experience is in school building, what universities did he earn his degrees in, these are vital questions. When they ask why do the money amounts and the target goal change, when they ask for itemized estimates - the answers to these questions are literally the crossroads between competency and incompetency - between legitimacy and fraud.

We do not need a single centralized leader of all Black folks. That's impossible and it's something we never had. We DO need to coalesce, network, plan and then do the work. You can kill a man but you can't kill a movement.

Y'all see how Penelope Pitstop keeps screaming 400k but Umar said it was 700k..

But since nobody knows which number is correct why wouldn't that cause a problem ?

To date, GoFundMe says that he has raised $375,989 in the 28 months since he began his campaign. This does not include the cash he has raised through in-person solicitations at speaking engagements or the money that has been mailed to him by supporters outside of his online campaign. On Monday’s NewsOne Now show, Johnson told Martin that he has raised $700,000.

To date, no one has seen financial documentation showing how much money he has collected, or how he has used any of the funds. No one has seen a business plan, an application for accreditation or anything tangible that indicates he is making strides toward this so-far mythical school.

Look at the dumbass Coon think here. if umar told a man that he has $700,000 then obviously that's the answer. It literally came out the horse's mouth.

he never equated money when you selling it as giving back to the community.

so he is hiring himself out as a tour guide, not a benefactor. and there is no problem with it. the problem is when you want accolades for giving back but you aren't giving anything
fair exchange ain't robbery

Impossible to define so there will always be some level of confusion and disagreement.

You'd have to insert philosophies and ideologies, which will always be debated especially considering how society progresses.

It's easy to define being black.
It means not apologizing for your skin color.
It's really that simple. Every compromise we make is because of our skin. The skin puts limitations on things.
You only are surprised a black person likes country music because they're black
you only say black people speak so well
you only say black people can or can't do that because they're black
its time to stop apologizing or limiting being black
black is more than capable and in most cases BETTER

Indeed. We have many Black charter schools here in my area. Pretty good ones that pipelines black kids k-12 and right into North Carolina A&T State University where they do there senior year on a campus. And it for Black males. The other school for young girls is at Bennett College.

Yeah, so what he is doing is nothing new and like many of theses other Charter schools, he is going to need steady income and not just start up cash. But that lack of start up funds could have been leveraged through grants if he didn't have enough. That's how these Black charter schools survive down here.

It would be nice for him to be cooperating with other PhDs like himself that could back him up or at least in his corner on a regular base. Just to keep the thought process balanced and not extreme.

I'm not sure if Umar has ever wrote and was awarded grants. If so, then than is a definite way for him to get those missing funds or at least cover certain cost.

Have you ever been to a Dr Umar lecture? See because most of you Coons have never been. Do you know that he sells all kinds of shit and it usually sells out. Like he has his own credit card processing machine and all that other bullshit for his business. He doesn't need to steal your lousy $400,000 when he's making a killing just doing his lecture circuit. And y'all kill me with this price tag shit. you damn right he should get paid because all of our black Scholars we've haf to bury broke . You literally had to get a collection plate passed around to bury their asses. You coons only love people when they're poor

yes....

and saying that because he sells merchandise and sells out lectures means he doesn't need the money is stupid..

we just watched millionaires and billionaires steal money and call it tax reform..

Liangelo Ball didn't need to steal sunglasses...

All theives don't steal out of need

So when they go on these tours now they're paying him to do it? Is that what you're coonmind has come up with now. Now you have a problem with this dude volunteering his time to show black people Africa or to take college kids on tours. That's just sick slave shit

So basically he's working hard every day for the past 7 years and then he's finally just going to stop and spend all this money he stolen right? I mean you can literally look at his Facebook schedule for the past few years and see that he works non stop. Yeah man you right sounds like a thief to me. Living in hotels doing lectures all across America and all over the world I mean the snake is very passionate for a thief

Man your coonass would have been the main one yelling but Malcolm is a pimp. You've always been a true blue coon. You are only happy when whites are happy

pulling shit out your mouth doesn't change the fact that it is still shit...

you should do something about that man crush you have

The difference is charters school are selective and will kick out kids who will not make them look good (or who's parents are not actively involved).

YES.

Especially the bolded part. I would have loved to have seen a committee (including Umar) of Black scholars and activists and professionals working together on that school project along with transparency and a clear budget.

This is true and it is what the controversy is with Urban Prep which has had a 100% graduation rate since it opened and 100% qualified for college..

To me, your definition is defining being a human being or a state of mind. I personally am not apologetic of who I am as a person. Me being Black is just the surface and how it affects me is how I'll navigate it through knowledge of where ever I'm at.

Problem with that is people are not going to place the same meaning behind it they way you and I would because the thinking isn't going to translate the same way.

Too much disagreement and for anything to have a meaning the people must agree to it.

Now I'm lying...this is just sad
Nigga where is all this passion against white folks?

There is nothing about white folks that I am passionate about. Let them be passionate about themselves.

But if this thread was about white folks I damn sure would be looking for comparisons to black folks.

This ain't new I have said many times over the years that hold us to a higher standard because I am concerned with us and our lives .

And if we are falling short who gives a fuck if white people do it too ?

Why would I question what a crakka does with their gofund me since I would never donate to it ?

That's exactly the point sir.
as defined in this country we were once 3/5 of a human remember?
We are looked at as sub human but those racists and bigots today.
Being black is actually being more human than our counterparts
it's not micro it's macro
Me and you aren't apologetic but also me and you aren't the only ones judging ourselves. We get judged on a black scale when there should be no scale of judgement for black in the first place
and if we unsubscribe from that scale, it literally no longer holds any weight

Not ABSOLUTELY true. Just partially, so you can't assert that thinking like is a major difference.

We have Black charter schools that cater specially for struggling families.

I worked with two different charter schools. One is very selective and the other was not selective at all. The ones that are selective are white ones. Most Black charter school aren't because why in the heck would they do that when they're goal is to save as many as us possible?

They are not kicking out unless warranted by way of disciplinary actions. I worked at Cater G. Woodson Charter school in Winston Salem, NC for a year. That school was for Black kids that had no where else to go. A wonderful senior program that prepared them to go to Winston Salem State U.

Ok, so we agree. The problem is getting everyone else to.

Plus there is just so much other stuff that must be account for when it comes to thinking this way.

Doesn't the school boards still preside over things like selection rules ? I ask because in Chicago the charter schools are very selective and the kids not selected are in the unresourced public schools

Which goes back to black folks being more involved with local politics including school boards..

I agree wholeheartedly with your posts in this thread but I hope like hell you don't have any students irl with your medieval ass beliefs about the shape of the Earth and shit

Lol, ironically a few of my students used to argue about flat earth everyday in class. I never got involved though. I don't talk about flat earth to anyone offline except for two of my cousins. I quit teaching for a while. Started an online business that's doing quite well at this point so I'm gonna ride that til the wheels fall off.

Are you telling me these charters school don't select who gets enrolled into their school? Is it first come, first served? I mean they have to have a process being that they are limited in the number of students they can accept.
It doesn't matter what their economic circumstances are. What matters is if the students show a greater ability to learn and pass the test/graduate. If the parents will be involved or not.
Charter school are charted by the state and have to show a reason for them to exist. If they are not showing improvements from the local district schools. then they will eventually be closed.
o it is in their best interest to look as good as possible for the state and for parents to want to send their kids to that school vs the local school district.
Btw I don't know how it is in your areas but I'm sure the charters school receive most of their funding from the local school district.

See, the problem is worrying about getting everyone else to.
Being proud to be black means you're not apologizing for how OTHERS feel about black people.

I think the others he is talking about is other black people... Getting more black people on the same pages .

The reason it worked in the 50 and 60s was because it didn't matter if you were a ditch digger, teacher, doctor or judge there was still a common agenda.

That agenda doesn't really exist today because success is materialistic and if it doesn't apply to them today then they don't care about it...

Well, there is some level of worry because part of my job as a black male teacher is getting us to understand who we are and our struggle.

Sometimes that realization to those finding themselves tends to criticize within the community if there is no agreement.

I don't really know what to think about it all to be honest
Dude tries to do good. Some things are unfairly pinned on him other things are not.
School for instance, Melo was ready to donate to the school and then some bullshit happens a fake controversy that makes melo pull out of the deal
I don't know if it was the woman he was sleeping with or what.. also he's a single guy who has sex and it was a controversy I guess.
Some things like his ego need to be checked and only in the sense of "his way or no way" type of things having self confidence is not a bad thing but dismissing everyone else and calling yourself the only way is.

A lot of thing he says people don't like so they take pleasure in his hiccups.
He tries to do good. I think he really wants to do good but his execution is lacking in some areas.

i can't really call it

Umar should have never claimed he was celibate...then got caught up fucking a "conscious" stripper. It ain't the fact that he fucking, it's the fact that he's lying. I ain't sending my money anybody that's always lying about shit.

BTW, regarding his degrees or lack thereof, Dr. Boyce got his dissertation posted online and people still question HIS legitimacy.

People will hate regardless.

i agree
its enticing and cats turn into bootstraps individuals when the roac to success is lined with traps
to be black and successful in this country is a miracle considering everything that is put against us and how 1 mistake fucks your entire life up
and it lends to the other side of the coin of how much of a failure you have to be in order to be poor and white in this same country.

I can't believe a grown man would ask such fucking idiotic questions and mean it. It's like you're so caught up in bringing this black man down that you've lost every fucking brain cell you had and you never had many. Dr Umar literally posted his summons and ask people to show up to support him and your dumbass talking about you can't find it on the site when he literally posted it. How come I've never seen you attack anybody white with this degree of viciousness? Like ever

regardless, what does his state certification have to do with him opening a school?

Why you so concerned with white people ? I don't live around them, don't associate with them and don't give a fuck about them.

You still trying for their acceptance and for them to treat you as one of their own ?
