I watched 12 minutes of this. I thought he handled and represented himself well.
I watched the whole thing. This is a witch hunt. I can't believe they brought him up on charges for this. The evidence was weak at best and they continually referred to him as DOCTOR.
I think it's bs that he or anyone doesn't have the right to know who their accuser are.
Marcus Kline is doing a good job at the school, but it's still a case of the kids just memorizing. I know quite a few parents who sent their children there and quite a few teachers who taught there who quit or un-enrolled their children because of abuse (Spankings, Pinching's, etc...) Even though this has been quite a few years back, I heard they still discipline in a way I don't want my children to take part of knowing my childs personality she would be "disciplined" everyday. I don't want to catch a case. I think them opening their minds on learning how to motivate children besides having them stand in a corner holding 50 lb books or getting spankings should be their 1st priority but some parents don't mind so they continue to do so. Kudo's to them for teaching the young advanced principles though. Maybe if they had a tutoring service I would send my child there as supplemental education.

What stood out to me was the December 21st notice from GoFundMe asking him to submit proof of his campaign for the school. The willingness in the text to work with him to establish proof. But Umar refused to show them the proof "again".
Wait a minute. This is Black people's money they gave specifically for a school to be built. You can't swallow your pride and provide the documentation GoFundMe is asking for - seeing as the Black community's (whom you claim to love) hard earned money is on the line?
...Or is it that you have no proof to show GoFundMe?
The text of that GoFundMe message sure didn't look like they had EVER received anything from him for there to be an "again".
King, I find it very disturbing how lazy, complacent and smug Americans as a society have become. This has truly become a fast food society.
I remember being a child in 6th grade and my teacher giving us index cards for vocabulary words and one of those recipe boxes to keep them in. Each day was a new word. I remembered them all. I relished in being able to expand my vocab, learn new things. I'm old enough to remember when mom or dad couldn't answer a question, them saying, "call the library!"
I called them too!
Now, in the Information Age, knowledge is at our fingertips, literally. Not only do we not have to go to the library to find stuff out, we don't even have to open our eyes if we have a smart device with a voice assistant. Books can read to us now instead of us reading books, and STILL we refuse to read as a society. Google is the greatest tool known to humankind to source knowledge and still most use computers and smart devices recreationally for social media/networking, texting, watching videos, listening to music and playing games. A complete fucking waste.
And somewhere in there arose people having shit to say in vlogs and podcasts. The lazy became lazier. Now instead of researching information for ourselves, we just parrot back what someone who appears to know what they're talking about has to say, as if it's undeniable truth. Black history documentaries featuring historians and talking heads speaking about society and Black history masquerade as true scholarship. Fuck all the books that Dr. Clarke, Dr. Welsing, Dr. Browder, Dr. West, Dr. King, Dr. Van Sertima and others provided us with that contain comprehensive knowledge, that they spent years researching and writing. Who needs a book that takes hours and hours to read, when we can listen to them talk for 10 minutes apiece?
Into that void steps the many headed monster named, "Tariq/Umar/Boyce/Cynthia/TBA/etc" - a beast of varying amounts of formal education, ideas and knowledge, varying motives and the ever present (often unsubstantiated) OPINION.
All of them have in common that they are against voting, repeat white supremacist lies about BLM, are anti-protest and direct action, declare their own (negative) definitions of Black feminism (as opposed to reading the history and listening to the leading experts) and refuse to even entertain the notion of connecting with activists such as BLM to see how techniques can be merged. One could almost look at them as agents since white supremacists seek to suppress those exact same things.
And from there comes what I call: "Consciousness by Proxy"
...aka Black folks who aren't doing shit for the community (or themselves learning-wise) but love to comment on shit and mindlessly repeat back things the many-headed monster belches forth as if doing so makes them conscious and knowledgeable ("fuck a book"). They literally trust these YouTube personalities do their thinking for them.
I don't see Tariq as being quite the same as Umar Johnson, in that he isn't using Black Consciousness to literally swindle people out of their money and gain worshipful disciples (and perhaps charm women out of their drawz).
Tariq is to me someone I find entertaining and funny on a level. It could be argued that he (and Boyce) uses Black Consciousness to make a living off Black folks, thereby making their true dedication to Black folks questionable. But it is indisputable that many of those who practice Consciousness by Proxy look at people like Tariq as 2018's version of what we used to call leaders back in the day (Rap Brown, Kwame Toure, King, Malcolm. Angela, et al). That is problematic on a number of levels, particularly that Conscious by Proxy people do little to no vetting of the ones they crown their leaders - which leads to the acceptance of pettiness, unscholarliness, false information, unchecked narcissism, close-mindedness and inactivity.
We have done better and still can do better.
I don't have a dog in this fight either way, but I tend to agree. I don't put any value on them calling him DOCTOR, because all that is required to be called Doctor is a Doctorate degree. He has that.
My problem is that they are trying to distinguish between him working as a school psychologist as opposed to practicing as a clinical psychologist who is allowed to see private patients. He clearly showed where he expressed during interviews what his true credentials were....school psychologist. And when he later simply said psychologist when referring to himself, it was based on the already stated premise that he is a "school psychologist".
A member dropped a post a page or two back outlining the progression one must take to move from a school psychologist to a practicing clinical psychologist.
This is all I want to know. Did he promise school complete by such and such date? If so, and didn't deliver, he needs to be held accountable. He's not my cup of tea and makes broad generalizations that don't hold up on a case by case level but I'm not angry at him either

This latest episode about him being a psychologist, this license yadayada, is irrelevant. He could've gone to court about this without telling anybody. It's a technicality. But he's using some minor case to make it look like THIS is whats holding up the school ...again.
And strangely, it's a distraction from the fact that GoFundMe cancelled his account and have those people their money back. Now he will be able to collect the money directly and never tell anybody how much he has. This is hardly any good for him but I guess when you're as bummy as he is, I guess any day not in jail is good for him.

...And after the hearing, notice how members of Philly's so-called conscious community - especially women rallied around this shithead. One woman was advocating HARD for a campaign to rally everyone to SILENCE anyone on social media that speaks up against him. Others were making on-the-spot plans to get him his own security detail.
It pained me to see male and female elders worshipping this man like this who hasn't done shit but rape trusting people of their money and promise an imaginary pie-in-the-sky-school. Meanwhile this narcissistic asshole stood there drinking it in like Trump.
I mean, WOW.
Pennsylvania conscious community, you all couldn't put that righteous energy into getting a security detail ala The Black Panthers for neighborhoods to replace the corrupt cops gaffling, beating and killing us all up? You couldn't rally people to stop supporting this hustler and instead financially support and build up existing conscious Black schools? Anything that would directly help and impact the Black community?

Western society has been gradually and quietly dumbed down more and more over the last few decades: scripted shows featuring non-actors being billed as "reality shows"an overemphasis on sports and entertainment, an underemphasis on knowledge of foreign cultures and issues and comprehensive news with diverse viewpoints and voices, the worship of the cult of personality and the acceptance of mediocrity as excellence. These conditions have birthed deluded and leaderless sheep looking for a happy ending to the show called life that matches the happy endings they see on tv and movies. They don't aspire to be heroic. It was funny, going online looking up ways for me to deal with delusional people, I see some white lady pawning off my work as her own on Youtube that was a psychologist. Here she was a certified psychologist clinically treating people and relying on my work. I know it is being used in a ton of medical research and treatment.
I see other people through illegal surveillance doing things related to the financial sector regarding trillions of dollars or selling major divisions of their company. I sure could use the money for security and to leave this fucking country.
