Jay doesn't even make a majority of his money from the music anymore though. He probably would have very little material change in his earning if he never released another album.

I think it had a lot to do with the questions asked. One show focused on the industry gossip and bullshit surrounding Jay-Z's life past and present and the reaction to the album.
The other interview basically focused on the actual album and the music, the process of the album and making of music in general.
And it was conducted in a studio never the less probably the place Jay (rapper/artist) is most comfortable.

I'm certainly not expecting that from him. However, Jay Z has a voice that reaches the world. He's also a clever lyricist when he wants to be. It would just be cool if he used it for more than just talking about how much wealth he has amassed. I agree 100 percent about the beyond shit... he's an icon...and it actually extremely talented and probably a top 3 performer (live)...but she makes no iconic music....it's really pretty damn crazy that someone so successful and who has sold so many albums doesn't have any real iconic music. Jay Z actually does have a lot of great singles (most of it much older shit) but Beyonce
