I rarely watch the Skins but when they played Tampa(my team) I notice the quarterback wearing number 17. I started thinking thats Doug Williams number; who lead these sorry sons of bitches to a Super Bowl. Why isn't his number retired there and why isn't he in the Hall of Fame yet? Thats that bullshit right there!

Doug Williams didn't have outstanding numbers.
IMO considering the team's name and it's history, they should at least not issue 17 anymore if they aren't gonna officially retire it. Also Doug Williams wore 12 with GSU and TB...so to some he might be more known by that number.

Doug was only a member of the skins from 86-89. in fact, Mark Rypien was the skins QB for 89. like somebody said above, he never had great numbers with the skins. just the SB MVP performance.

Doug Williams may not deserve to make the HOF as a player, but he could get in for an individual achievement the same way Roger Maris is in there for breaking the home run record or Randy Smith is in there for consecutive games streak (NBA)
