Again....this is the part that typically DOES NOT mutate. Try looking up the differences b/w attenuated and live vaccines or actual immunoglobulin therapy/shots.

Uh it wasn't the shot that got you sick, you just got sick. The flu shot is 70% effective not 100%. You fell into the 30%, the flu shot has a weakened form of the virus in it. It's not enough to make you ill, unless your immune system is extremely weak from AIDS or Stage 3A, B C, or Stage 4 Cancer etc.

I mean yea the government has screwed people over and will continue to do so. But vaccines for the most part are safe. But like most things.... if you dont need it, dont get it. Im in medical school and am exposed to shit CONSTANTLY throughout the day. from H1N1 to MRSA to HIV to Herpes Simplex patients to P.aeruginosa to a whole list of other shit.....

I havent gotten anything yet and most people in the field dont b/c they follow safety protocol. If you are in a densely packed area, that predisposes you to a number of diseases and infections. From Pneumonia to Tuberculosis to Haemophilus and others. you may want to think about vaccination more strongly than others.

A lot of times they make vaccines with the mindset that in SOME diseases, some people die with the first infection and others dont. The REAL problem with this is that it is not uncommon for someone that has had an infection with a bacteria/fungus/virus and is now predisposed to OTHER diseases or if infected AGAIN with a different strain that they do not have immunity to they get a type of SUPERINFECTION. This phenomena is fairly common.

You should know something about the process of mutation in the bacteria or virus you are talking about. Mutations are very common. EVERYTHING mutates. the immune system is in a perpetual state of change so it can account for various strains of viruses or "virulence factors" that allow a bacteria to colonize in the human. Now, the whole point of vaccination is to attack the parts of a bacteria or virus that HAS to be present in order to compromise the human's natural status (healthy) these things seldom mutate. Small pox is something that does not (rarely) mutates so a vaccine was made. As a result, small pox has been ERADICATED. Now the opposite is true for HIV. Mainly b/c the part of the virus that mutates IS on the surface of the virus. That plus destroying CD4 lymphocytes designed to make antibodies to viruses and storing themselves in Neutrophils so that it can not be killed are all things that STOP complete destruction of the virus and stop a HIV vaccine from being made.




Now..... as far as H1N1 is concerned. That is a specific strain. The HA is called Hemagglutinin, a component that allows a virus to BIND to the host cell that it is trying to infect. NA is called Neuraminidase and enables the virus to be released from the host cell. The specific naming for H1N1 or H5N1 or whatever is a nomenclature that allows doctors and scientists to know what they are dealing with.


Now im not saying that they couldnt put some other shit in the injection and give it to people but honestly as i said before. The best thing is to way your exposure risks and act accordingly.

Its fine if you do not want the shot. But if you have a child.... you may SERIOUSLY want to think about giving your kid the shot. Schools are breeding grounds for all types of diseases. Children have a much lower immune system. especially in major cities or if they have other diseases from birth. Thats honestly my two cents. Im about to get back to studying this pharmacology. If any of you all have questions Ill see if I can post the answer. If I dont know it. Then Ill look it up and get back to you...... if I have the time of course. Yall keep it easy

i'm aware of the idea that parts of a virus may not change, some scientist actually considered using that technique to make an aids vaccine. But to be honest i havent seen enough unbiased data to support the claim that any part of a virus stays the same, maybe some parts change slower or at different rates

and i've heard of that whole figurin out what strains of a certain virus are gonna be out at a certain time but i've never seen or heard any explanation as to how this is done.
