Man, I have no problem shopping there. You can laugh if you want but your ass can save hundreds of dollars. You can get the best used name brands up in this piece for $4 to $5. All you have to do is wash or dry clean the clothes. Compare $4 and $5 to $30 to $50 buying the same thing downtown USA.

I was looking at those fools in Houston lining up to pay $100 and $100 for shoes. But many of these niggas will waste their money making these devils rich and not have nothing to show for it. Those same clothes that you paying 40 to 150 bucks for will begin to fade in a few months. So why pay so much when you can pay 5 bucks?

I have seen Nautica jeans and shirts (save $40) , Timberland Jeans and shirts (save $40), Pelle , Nike shirts and gym pants, Brooks Brothers dress shirt, name brand slacks(save $30) for like $4. If you go to fucking Macy you pay like 40 to 50 dollars for them.

Fuck Footlocker, Macy's, Brooks Brothers, Foot Action, LL Bean, and the rest of those bloodsuckers.

I remember talking to some bird brain nigga. He was talking about the new Tims he had which cost him 150 bucks, his Polo shirt which cost him 40 bucks, and Levi Jeans $30 but yet his ass asking me for money to get something to eat. He can't eat the Timberland on a plate with hot sauce. $220 wasted but nothing buy anything to eat?

bought a pair of dress pants and a shirt and washed them and took them to the dry cleaners for extra measure.

I see alot of people shopping there, fine sisters too... all types of people in there.

I usually just browse slickdeals and get clothes on special.

Haven't done so for clothes, but baby clothes, etc....we hit up yard sales too. Nothing wrong with being frugal. Remember, it's not how much you make, it's how much you save.

No shame to admit it, I've bought stuff there. And will do it again if I see something I like for the cheap.

i did once when shopping at the thrift store was cool. i bought a sport coat, wore it once. i prefer to be the only owner of my clothes and especially shoes.

I used to work at Goodwill and some of the items are brand new that places like Target,sears,walmart,..ect couldn't sell.

:cool:I know its white peoples secret hangout...they stay browsing.

I shop there when I need props for films. good deals. You'll fine A LOT of fine, artsy, fashion sense chicks there.

Whole closet from there...always getting compliments....I got bills and thats real. Staying copping Polo and Brooks

I've dated a few hipster chicks that roll through those spots in addition to the shitloads of other thrift stores in my area on occasion.. It's better for women than men in terms of getting good stuff. I've gotten a few belts, throwback ties a pair of seersucker shorts and one Ralph Lauren blue blazer the type with the gold buttons for like 10 got it tailored to a perfect fit for 35 more. I have my own style that works for me so I don't know if it's a good place to frequent for most brothers. No matter what you get there get it cleaned up well. If times got hard I could def piece together a five day work wear wardrobe out of the ones up here in DC.

I honestly don't have the time to dig through that shit so I just usually hit up Vintage stores that automatically sort and pick out the quality stuff it just costs more.

Nothing wrong with thrift store shopping, specially considering what it is your buying. There are some things you definately don't buy at thrift stores, i.e. underware, mattresses etc. Depending on the stores/organization some thrift stores deal with a lot of brand new items just like the 99 cent stores. I bought a brand new bowling ball that hadn't even been drilled yet for $5. I've also bought Hugo Boss and Armani suits for $50 and $35. The quality of the merchandise of most thrift stores depends on the location of the store, the city/area because the inventory is donated by the individuals in that neighborhood. So if you go to a thrift store in Beverly Hills (and yes they have them there because usually they are run by charity organizations) you'll find some quality name brand stuff cheap. Can't beat it for great bargains.

i've bought plenty of good books from there. at Barnes & Nobles i'd prolly pay $20 for the same book i just paid $1.50 for

Just bought a bought an army fatigue coat this weekend and got props on it when I wore it out. Shit goes hard wit some boots. Goodwill is definitely my new spot.

One person mentioned uppity. Okay, lets say you bought Burberry pants for 150 bucks but Goodwill had those same pants for 5 bucks. If you dry cleaned those same pants they would look almost as new as the new Burberry pants you bought. So, you would rather waste 145 dollars to just to feel uppity?

I don't think people who sees you with them could tell the difference between which one came from the Burberry location and the one which came from the Goodwill location.

I know a chick that goes to these types places regularly. She doesn't go for clothes but to browse other things..

She has gotten antiques and housewares paintings lamps vases and other things on the cheap that makes money on resale.

The people working those places don't know what they get and most people that donate the items don't know what they had.

She also does garage sales.

I have heard that as well.....That many retailers have contracts with places like that for all the things they can't sell..

I'm in the goodwill store at least twice a month. Why should I feel embarrass by paying 5.00 for a pair of dam near new jeans that go for 60 bucks?

my boy does.. He has a really nice sense of fashion. He has a gang of old guess denim and throw back polo sweater he copped from Goodwill

I'm not man enough to wear clothes from a thrift shop..
