Donavan Brazier broke Jim Ryun's NCAA record for the 800 meters on the 50th anniversary of its running as the Texas A&M freshman ran 1:43.55 to win his first NCAA outdoor title.
Brazier's time is the second fastest by anyone in the world for 2016 and the fastest by an American. The mark is also world junior record as Brazier is just 19 years old.
Brazier is now the seventh fastest American of all-time at the distance.

Brazier may elect to compete at next month's U.S. Olympic Trials, which will determine the team that will compete at the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. After the race, he said he has not made a decision on whether or not to compete at that level or focus on the World Junior Championships.
