Does anyone have a pdf of the Series seven Learning Kit??

I work in the financial District and a Trader pulled me to the side and mentioned that i should try to take the Seies Seven test. I would like to know if any of you have taken this 6-hour test and what benefits (other than the obvious) you would get?

The series 7 is the NASD/NYSE exam required by most broker-dealers for their registered representatives.

Covered Areas Include: Stocks, Debt Securities, Investment Banking, Securities Markets, Taxes, Securities Analysis, Self Regulatory Organizations (SRO’s), Mutual Funds and Investment Companies, Annuities, Margin, Options, Money Market Instruments, Direct Participation Programs and Municipal Securities.

No Prerequisite

The test is made up of 260 multiple-choice questions of which 10 are experimental. Each student will be given a total of 6 hours for the exam (3 hours for each half).

It appears to be pretty much the same stuff you'd learn in college. So I'd say buy the course yourself, or buy a college finance textbook. Better yet go to one of the leading textbook websites like this.

If you come into the pdf or the software yourself, then by all means post that shit. Along with the Series 6, and 63.

You can study for the test, but you have to have a financial firm sponsoring you. Not any and everyone can just take the test and become a financial consultant or broker. So unless you have a financial firm sponsoring you, you might want to rethink studying for this unless you just want to gain the knowledge.

I think Primerica does some sponsoring of the series 7. Since you already work for a finance company then they can. I am not sure if you really need a sponsor because I can figure out what one would do if they wish to become an independent financial planner

I took it and passed in 2002. I was sponsored by the company I was working for at the time but for some reason I think you may be able to take it yourself. Use the book by STC it is the best - very clear and concise. If things haven't changed much since I took it you will need to devote a good amount of time to options and I believe debt. Some words of wisdow -- TAKE THE PRACTICE TESTS OVER AND OVER (Preferably computer test that comes with the book) -- Trust me come test time things will look REAL familiar. Good luck

You have to be sponsored to take any of the Securities exams. You gotta get your foot in the door at a good investment company, or insurance company that does mutual funds, and variable insurance products.

I just passed my Life and Health exams. I'm currently studying for the series 6 and 63 tests. I'll be taking them in January. The 6 and 63 will be a good start if you wanna take the 7.
