Do You Still Live In The City/State/Country Where You Were Born?

I was thinking how alot of my friends and family have moved away from NY, whether it was the armed forces, college, or a better life than the hustle and bustle of the city. I always boasted about leaving NY for Atlanta, Charlotte, or Houston since the 90's before alot of other people.

I was born in the Bronx, and raised in Wash. Heights/Harlem/upper Manhattan for the most part, and after all that boasting I still live in NYC.....I guess it's either a subconcious fear or relocating or just timing.
 
I was born and raised in the BK.

I lived in S. FL for a few.

But ATL is my home and apparently home to mostly transplants.
 
Born and raised in Barbados :) now residing in Canada :smh: talk about a change in culture.
I'm home at least once a year though so I get my West Indian fix for sure.

^^^^ Very nice pix....it looks peaceful. A young lady that I know is from there, she plans on going back home for Christmas and New Years.

I live in the same state, many years later. Many memories, people, years and miles, I almost managed to make it all the way back. Give it several more years, eventually, I will be there. Go with your heart...
 
Born and raised in the UK for 13 yrs... lived in Togo, Mauritius, Spain, Nigeria and now NYC. :D
 
I was born in Manhattan, lived in the Bronx, Long Island, and Manhattan again before moving to Brooklyn where I reside today.

Once I thought I would live and die in NYC, but recently with the economy and state of the city, I could possibly see myself moving, but it will be hard. NYC is the center of the world and everything is here, in every variety you can think.
 
Came from a military family so I don't really have a home. But I was brought up in Augusta, GA spent most of my life in ATL and now live right outside DC.
 
Born and raised in New Orleans, after Katrina I've spent about a week in New Jersey, then I lived on the Westbank of New Orleans for a few months, spent a few weeks in Lafayette basicly all of the rest of my post-Katrina life has been spent in San Antonio, TX.

Kinda embarressed to say but I've only been out of Louisiana since Katrina before then, furthest I ever traveled was to Picayune, Miss
 
Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. And I still live here...Kinda sucks though I am the only family member not born in Tennesse.:smh:
 
Jersey bred, Jersey Raised... Still live in Jersey, like 40 minutes from where I grew up... I used to want to move the hell away from Jersey.. .but even though its crazy expensive, I love Jersey... I think it would be sooo hard to really adapt and live elsewhere... Most of my family either lives in NY or NC/SC/ anywhere in the South
 
I escaped the trap that is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will never return. Anyone who lives there or who has lived there knows what I'm talking about.
 
Born and raised in NYC. Lived in Queens, moved to Harlem. I love this city, but every now and then I get that urge to pack it up and move elsewhere. The majority of my fam live here, Boston, or FLA, but those last two places are not for me.
 
Born St Maarten, raised between there and NYC uptown back and forth. Live half and half between both places except the NYC part has changed to Brooklyn, but not for much longer. Its time to exodus from the belly of the beast. Here are pics of where I'm from:

I was born and raised in a small town in California 60 miles north of Los Angeles, went to college in Los Angeles, then moved to "the valley", then moved to Long Beach......

Now I live in Plano, TX. Been here for 6 months....don't ever see myself living in Cali again.
 
I was born in the Manhattan lived in the Bronx til about 11 then moved to Pa. My mom said she wanted me to have a better life and education. Plus she didn't wanna worry about me gettin hit by a stray bullet. We had alot of Gunshots in the Melrose and Jackson Pj's. I plan on moving to South Carolina when I graduate college though
 
I was born in Brooklyn and lived there until I moved to Charlotte, NC.

I also lived in Western Mass and Binghamton, NY.

I'm in the Bronx, NY now and plan on moving back to Brooklyn.

I may move out of NYC again. Just not for a while.

Been moving for a while partly because of the nature of my job

I London now but might be moving again but this time its China or South Asia

Me? Born and raised in Chi. Left as soon as I could and hit Cali. Now living in the A.. Sometimes I wonder what life woulda been like if I had stayed In Chi..
 
Love traveling and i plan on doing more. If i find a country where id like to settle down then i'd stay there. I'am thinking france, spain, or japan. I would love to spend a decent amount of time in hawaii and south africa just livivng on the beach. I've been to a couple different states and i've been to Jamaica and the Cayman islands. I maybe taking a summer vacation to the bahamas next year.
 
I'm from New Orleans, as well...moved to NYC for grad school in 2004 (pre-Katrina)...moved in August to Charlotte...EH, Charlotte is starting to grow on me, but never back to New Orleans! Even before Katrina, there was no real "thinkers" in the city...at least, that's how I felt...

I was born in Boynton Beach, Fla. Moved to Miami, then to Fort Lauderdale, then to Delray Bch, then to West Palm Bch, then to Atlanta when my mom was offered an upper level management position with AT&T. I know my handle is Swatlanta and I I love it here in Atlanta but I will always be a Fla boy at heart. I miss the water in Fla and the heat and humidity. I still can't stand temperatures below 40 degrees...
