TO ANYONE!!! :lol:

I'm serious though...I'm a VERY good listener, and if I truely like you I will also do my fair share of talking, but do you ever just look at your phone or see people you normally talk to and say to yourself, "I just don't want to talk to your ass today...it's nothing against you, I just don't want to talk to anyone."

I ask this question because I know that this has gotten me into sticky situations with women in the past. It's funny, I feel like why should I have to explain my actions to you before hand if I don't feel like TALKING in the 1st place?! :hmm::smh: That just always seemed like contradiction, but I guess I could be wrong! :rolleyes:

Anyway, ladies and gents, share your input and experiences on this subject.

Seriously, I'll generally lend an ear to friends but for the most part I'm the worlds biggest screener and all my friends know it.

Some have even joked that they go through a relevance of topic checklist before they even dial my number. I also have a policy that if I don't answer and you don't leave a voicemail then it must not have been anything important.

Ironically, I'll entertain convo all day through IM although I am quick to cut off bullshit (gossip, drama) at the knees.

Yes sometimes you just need some head space. I just turn my phone off. Offer no explanation because one really isn't necessary and wont satisfy anyway.

You simply weren't available that day at that time.

Yeah, I might have to also employ that technique as well. I'm not sure, like you said, if any explaination will ever be valid for the other person. I remember doing this (ignoring phone calls because I took a "personal day" of contemplation) and a girl I was going out with went ballistic and the relationship soon ended...just off of a brotha trying to get a little perspective and peace of mind...:smh::smh::smh:

Sometimes we need to have our space...there is nothing wrong with not wanting to talk. People need to respect a person's need for privacy sometimes. Alone time to be with one's thoughts is a necessary thing.

I feel like that alot. I sometimes dont wanna be bothered by anyone. I wont answer the door, or the phone or anything.​

Ons there are retreats you can go on where there is no talking- just silent meditation and activities. My friend went on one for a week and she said it was fantastic. She had just gone through a divorce and I could see that extreme quiet time really helped her.

Please drop a few locations...I'd love to do that. I wish I could go back to where I went this past summer...ALONE! lol That would be nice as hell. I had great time alone in small increments, but it doesn't help when random island women at the resort are tryin' to chase ya around! :lol:

I'll pm you when I find out. A few not too far from you...and the place I know of is a buddhist monastery so I think you will be safe. You cold drop kick a monk I'm sure, but prayerfully that would not be necessary.

I feel you. I dont talk to anybody over the phone. its all text messaging. I feel like anybody that calls me is trying to occupy my time and control me. especially since i tell everybody i dont answer my phone. Even my mama knows that if she calls me and i dont pick up the phone to have my sister text me to get at me.
I feel that when im away from home i belong to the world, when i come home its me and i dont have to meet any expectations.
