If you educated yourself on the science, you'd know it's not semantics. Apes and humans evolving from a common ancestor doesn't mean we evolved from apes. This shit is not debatable.
Science is based on fact and evidence until it can be disproved. Religion is not based on fact, its based on faith. Faith doesn't equate to fact. Evolution is a theory based on science and evidence. Show me a man that doesn't believe in evolution and I'll show you a man that doesn't have a strong educational background or is very religious. Evolution challenges religious opinion, to accept it is to accept your religion as a falsehood which is difficult to many. We evolved from ape-like creatures. There is nothing wrong with evolving from a lesser being, nothing, there is no shame or shouldn't be any shame.
Believing in science doesn't negate or indicate intelligence as science is to be questioned. If you believed science for what is considered truth by others you deem as more intelligent, you would still think there are 9 planets, the initial big bang timeline, and the universe revolves around Earth. Truth changes with more science so to turn around and say someone is not smart for not believing current science is idiotic.
Explain the exponential growth in intelligence that only humans have if we came from these primitive ape-like creatures.

honestly, I don't know if evolution is real or not, but the simple fact some of you want to critique intelligence because someone doesn't believe what you believe,but at the same time can't fully explain in your theory regarding intelligence itself, is alarming.

I try to avoid blind belief, leaning instead on evidence and hypotheses that consider known facts. In this subject, all of the objective evidence points to evolution, and until there is more evidence that suggests we didn't evolve, this remains my stance.

The job of science isn't to explain everything to people who may or may not be able to understand, but instead, it is to weigh out and test competing hypotheses and falsify the ones that lack supporting evidence.
So rather than question what you think could or couldn't happen in evolution, why not list all the evidence that supports whatever you believe and list all the evidence that supports your claim? For example, you can start by presenting the fossil remains of a perfectly preserved homosapien that dates back over a million years,

anyone involved in the science community knows that any hypothesis that you create deserves to face scrutiny. if you can't answer basic questions regarding what you presented, your response isn't, well, what is your evidence, and then say stuff like, I can't help you if you can't understand it. lol. that's childish.
When someone presents a theory in science, the entire scientific community is going to question everything about it. that's how science works.

I have struggled with believing we are descendants of 2 humans, but it would explain some of the genetical defects we/humans experience. IMO We definitely did not evolve from apes.
History shows up that we evolved into what we are today and life didn't start with 2 people placed here but there had to be some outside influence that put everything into motion. When someone tells me we had to come from somewhere so that means there is a God I always ask so where did God come from and there response is always God has always existed and didn't come from anywhere
