Disk drive cloning software advice needed

I bought a new SSD hard drive for an older laptop. What is the best (or preferred) disk cloning software. I’ve been led down of number of unhelpful rabbit holes.

If you can get two external cases, like ebay or Frys. They are like $5-10. Take the drive out and from another machine, can plug them both in and clone drive to drive

Apps like Acronis Tru Image or Partition Magic I've used in the past. You can manipulate the drive sizes typically if needed. I always have a C and D drive on my drives..

I just did my laptop last year with a 2TB. It's blazing fast for a 3 yr old machine. Boots in 30 secs.

Yep, slower process but making an image, putting on your other PC is good as well, can just put the image onto the new drive and be a different size. Also if you screw up, you can just do it over and still have original image.

I've used CloneZilla to clone Sata drives to SSD without issues. The other thing is get a Duplicator 1 button cloning no hassle.

You don't even need a exclosure, just cop that and clone.
