Discussion: FARGO on FX @10pm Update: Season 5 w/ John Hamm

I don't see the award-winning performance in Bokeem. Character has no emotion, has the same stoic personality in every scene
Stoic.... Just look at him when he got pushed into that crappy office or when he put Ol girl's baby picture face down when he saw it in the house, because he couldn't stand her looking at him.

FARGO: 12 KEY ANSWERS FROM CREATOR NOAH HAWLEY

12. When Will Season 3 Air

"I think the reality is you won't see it in 2016. I've said before, it's a winter show, for better or worse, and this winter there is not time to shoot another year before this winter is over. I think it's also very important to me and my other producers -- I think one of the strengths of the show is we separate the writing from the production, and we really take our time and we break the whole story, and we write eight of the 10 hours at least, and we end up there knowing exactly what we're doing and exactly what the whole story is, and so we're going through the writing process now. I've written the first hour. We're about halfway through breaking the season, and we'll be writing over the next few months with the idea that we'll go into production -- much like our first year -- we'll be shooting in November and we'll be back on the air in spring of 2017."

Gonna check out the finale in a few days.

On a scale of 1 - 10 ... how did you rate the season, everyone?

Gonna be interesting to see who gets cast for season 3 next year.

5 minutes into ep 10 and i had to go back to season 1 ep 1, I will just admit I missed it and never that connection ................ looking back it was all there too .
fucking writers :furious::beammeup:
i shouldn't have to re-watch an earlier season to fill plot holes for a new season fam

other than that...sn 2 was dope

didn't rewatch the season just skimmed the first episode to see why I never made the connection, realized i never focused on those secondary characters.

-mike milligan, corporate thug.

-you have to adapt with the times.
gerhardts didnt realize this.
sometimes moms & pops should sell out to the corporation.
got wiped out.

-what revenge does the 'indian' want?
he turned on the gerhardts as well.

Very good season. We checked out the finale yesterday. Enjoyed that sequence with Ed and his wife fleeing. The slower scenes with Lou talking with his wife and father-in-law. Plenty of great characters all year (especially Hanzi), and Mike Milligan's fate was interesting. Reminded us of Vic Mackie's fate in the series finale of The Shield back in the day. Season 3 should be great. They definitely set the bar high with the casts & storylines from seasons 1 and 2. The podcasters really dug the season too. Plenty of good recap shows out there for those on ITunes.

Fonz' and Vicious - That scene at the Gerhardt family home was dope too. The cousin rifling through the belongings with Milligan & the Kitchen brother walking in on him.

The people I was watching with were hoping Milligan's boss was gonna get capped at the office. They were hoping him and Milligan would step aboard the elevator, and said Kitch' bro' would be waiting for him with a pistol or shotgun.

binged watched the first 4 episodes...INCREDIBLE.

And I was worried because I loved the first season.

that scene with Milligan meeting the other sheriff for the first time at the typewriter shop

when he tells him I like you
Well we are friendly
I didn't say that...you all are polite in the most unfriendliest way possible.

I swear that was a POWERFUL metaphor for the entirety of black white relations in this country.

halfway through?

a 10

and their ability to create an entire UNIVERSE on ONE movie...

not a sequel or trilogy or spin-off or re-make

ONE MOVIE.

f*cking amazing

I don't see the award-winning performance in Bokeem. Character has no emotion, has the same stoic personality in every scene

completely unequivocally disagree

same could be said for almost all the actors in the series then.

He is playing it how the writers producers script call for and is STILL adding his own flavor and touches.

His performance is as masterful as Malvo last season...

because EVERY time he is on screen?

you tense up just a little bit with anticipation

You want to see WHAT he does.

And he never disappoints.

When he does the Jabbererwocky speech and says BOID instead of BIRD...

checking his hair for shampoo at the breakfast meeting

talking about his mom

the fake smile forced white voice for the cops "hello!"

and constantly PRETENDING he didn't really understand something Joe Bulo would say

right there...dude created a complete character, unforced.

I sometimes can't believe this is the same kid from Strapped and Crooklyn.

Playa - Right on, fam'. Glad you're enjoying the season and getting caught up on the eps. You're in for a treat as the season plays out. Some fantastic scenes just like in season 1.

Watch for the character transformation with Kirsten Dunst.

All the great scenes ahead with Hanzi, Mike Milligan, and more.

Plenty of good usage of the split screens.

So glad they're giving the movie proper shine, and also referencing past Coen brothers films from the 80s - 00s. Look for callbacks to films like Miller's Crossing, No Country for Old Men, Raising Arizona, and more.

Even though the series might not have the biggest ratings and all, they know they've got a gem with the show. So much good buzz online & come award(s) season (Golden Globes). Fans love and appreciate good TV like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Fargo, Mad Men, The Sopranos, and more. Watercooler talk. Cool factor(s), etc. Plus the fact that Noah Hawley and company are NOT rushing the show. Sounds like they'll be filming season 3 in late-2016 and releasing it in early-2017.

Why was the name Roy written in white chalk next to the plaque on the brick wall commemorating the hanging of the Sioux Indians?
