Discussion: FARGO on FX @10pm Update: Season 5 w/ John Hamm

Aye before I forget. Timothy Oliphant in episode 2 as the Mormon US Marshall.

"You are the most blaspheming man I have ever met, and I've been to Cleveland."

Why does Cleveland get so many damn random ass shots?!! Hahahaha

Nice. Glad you are liking it so far. Like any season, some of the characters can be hit and miss. It’ll take a minute to be fully familiar with who’s who in a relatively big cast. But it plays out well throughout the season. The way it’s shot and cinematography are always on point too.

Upto episode 8 now......lawd, the bull finally bowing to the pipsqueak.....the nurse seeing the handwriting....Mr Mormon closing in on the fugitives.....I'm glad this season had 11 episodes and not 10 like the others

Nice! You’re almost done. Overall it’s a pretty good season, right? Sometimes the criticism with seasons 2 and 4 is that the full cast is too big, or it’s too hard to follow all the characters and storylines. I think that works for these seasons though. There’s alot going on, so it’s not boring. Have to pay attention to what’s what, or who’s who.

I’d rather that than a cast that is limited in characters or only has a boring storyline / plot or two.

Let us know what you think of the black and white episode ahead.

Caught all these. Sean’s 2 & 4 are my favorite the 1 them 3. The writer of Fargo Noah Hawley also has some dope ass fiction books out there. Peace

I was talking to my dad last week & he's trying to get his GF into Fargo.

He explained to her you don't necessarily have to watch the seasons in sequential order ... and suggested they start with season 2 (his fave). They watched it over 2 weekends, and I watched it when it initially aired with him years back. Good stuff.

He has published six novels: A Conspiracy of Tall Men (1998), Other People's Weddings (2004), The Punch (2008), The Good Father (2012), Before the Fall (2016), and Anthem (2022).[7]

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons marry after 6 years together

By Mike MillerJuly 08, 2022 at 07:53 PM EDT

After playing husband and wife multiple times on screen, Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons are trying out the real thing.
The parents of two, who most recently starred as an onscreen couple in Power of the Dog, quietly married last weekend at the GoldenEye luxury resort near Ocho Rios, Jamaica, according to Page Six.
A rep for Dunst confirmed the marriage in a statement to PEOPLE but had no other details to add.
Plemons and Durst met in 2016 on the set of the FX series Fargo while playing husband and wife in the show's second season. Rumors of an engagement began to swirl after Dunst was spotted wearing a ring on that tell-tale finger at the Golden Globes in 2017.

Since then, they've welcomed two sons, Ennis Howard, 4, and 14-month-old James Robert.

Dunst hinted that a wedding was long overdue in an interview with The Los Angeles Times earlier this year, saying that while she and Plemons "call each other husband and wife," they had not begun to make plans for their nuptials.
"We have to get married at this point. It's ridiculous. We just haven't planned a wedding," she told the outlet back in February, explaining that the COVID-19 pandemic and her second pregnancy made it difficult to nail down a date. "I didn't want to be pregnant, get married, have a party, and not be able to have fun with everybody."
In addition to Fargo and Power of the Dog, which earned them each Oscar nominations, the pair recently appeared together in Netflix's Windfall. They've also worked alongside each other in episodes of Black Mirror and Drunk History.

"I don't wanna do another project without [Kirsten]. It's just the best," Plemons told PEOPLE in December. "We fell in love creatively first on Fargo, just immediately trusted each other. I'm constantly amazed by what she brings. She just operates from such a deep place in her soul."

Ahead of the release of Fargo season 5, details regarding the plot remain scarce, leaving fans eager to unravel the enigmatic storyline that lies ahead. However, a few intriguing hints have emerged, offering glimpses into the upcoming season’s direction.

Setting the stage for season 5, creator and series director Noah Hawley has revealed that the story will unfold in the year 2019. This marks the closest the Fargo anthology series has ever ventured toward reality, adding an intriguing layer of connection to the contemporary world.

Adding to the intrigue, Hawley has dropped cryptic references, alluding to a Western vibe that will permeate the narrative. This departure from the previous season’s 1950s mafia setting promises a fresh and unexpected take on the Fargo universe, captivating viewers with its innovative storytelling approach.

This show is in my list to watch.

I saw the Series Premiere when it debuted, but had to drop it after cuz I had too much shit too watch.

If these strikes stretch out into November, I might use that time to binge it….along with other shit I got stacked up.

Definitely recommend it.

Each season has a unique cast of characters and some notable names along the way (cast-wise).

Plenty of good villains.

Season 2 was my fave of the bunch. Just great. Fave cast members - Mike Milligan, Hanzee Dent, Floyd Gerhardt, The Butcher, Joe Bulo ...

One of the best scenes from season 1 of the show. Good tension. I like the way it's shot with the lights & exhaust. Tom Hanks' son Colin talking to Billy Bob Thornton ... love the tone change when he says to him "How old's your kid?"
